Obligatory kicked for awful group thread

On level 72 shaman healing as resto. Boring. Earth shield healing everything. Terrible mage dps (<1k dps) demands that we pull the entire abom room in Drak'Tharon keep. The tank with 12k health pulls both aboms and all 3 packs of ghouls (by pull, I of course mean he ran by them and made no attempt to hold threat as they wrecked me from healing aggro). I reincarnate. I spam Healing surge on the tank and he still goes down in seconds. The dps die. I die again.
Yet who gets blamed? The healer. You have been removed from group. Stare off into the icy cold of Dragonblight as I try to remember why I even q'd in the first place. This is gonna be so much fun in cata gents and female druids/priests. |

Yeah, it happens.
Some people are morons. I know, it's frustrating. Find the member of the opposite gender and get yourself a hug. |

I'll be running with friends. Said friends played with me through Vanilla and TBC.
We'll be alright. Can't say the same for most people. It'll be a real shock to them! |

we should probably have macros that say things like, " _ _ _ _" ( insert tank's name). you're a bit low on hp, and/or your armor is lower than it should be for this instance. proceed with caution because blizz has nerfed heals and i will not be able to keep you alive if you pull like you did in WotLK.

or, just flat out: healers have been SEVERELY nerfed, by 73% in fact. as a result, pulilng whole rooms or more than one group, is not recommended by your healer (unless you enjoy running back from the graveyard :D
encase it in little icons like {star} or {skull} etc. to get their attention |

that's good to hear, but to be quite honest, I can't think of many 5 man dungeons that were healer dependent aside from halls of reflection, and even then I think that was supposed to have some sort of CC involved in it, fairly sure it was any how. but ppl just zerged things and...well....ya........ Healing is so broken in wrath that I stopped using a tank months ago. We just 4dps it and don't even worry about which mob is hitting who. I just heal through it. Thats how OP healing is. So when I can do that, having people die imo _is_ healers fault majority of the time as they _can_ heal through it without a tank if they want. I would know, I do it like all the time. Damage is also so light that when I do have a tank, I'll normally go enhance and just heal with mealstrom Chain Heal hits. Cata changes this completely. Healers can't carry groups anymore. And mechanics are a LOT more obvious as to whos at fault. Like if dps don't kill the chains, entire group gets hit for about 500k damage. No healer healing through that. Or the boss where if 1 single person messes us their beam, it's a wipe. I don't think I even heal on that one aside from healing stream. Things like that are a LOT more common. |

it'll be better in cata if anything. Because its a LOT more apparent that it's NOT the healers fault. Very few fights are healer dependent. I would like to think that but based on my experience as a healer, group deaths are almost always blamed on the healer because a large portion of this playerbase is incompetent. Honestly if you are new to healing, or you just want to heal; AVOID LFD. Always find friends to heal with you. LFD is just an exercise in frustration. |

If things start to look bad, I just bail when combat ends (like if the Tank's health drops really low quite often or people seem to have "unique" aggro issues). I am there to "help" keep people alive, but if I am not enough to do that then I am not going to waste my time.

There is one wonderful thing I think about every time I see stuff like this. Healing actually takes a significant amount of thinking and creativity in the new Cataclysm instances. I think that the eventuality of this is that less and less healers will become available. At the worst, less and less good healers are going to be available. I think that because of that the rude, and stupid players (please note that by stupid I don't mean new, I mean those that not only are clueless to how groups work but THINK they know everything and thus will take no advice regardless of how polite it is...we've all seen them) are going to shoot themselves in the foot. They are either going to ignore or be ignored by skilled healers leaving them with either longer queue times or an awfully crappy set of healers to work with.

I got kicked on my tank one time 2 minutes before last boss. 3 people in the same guild, one of which was afk since first boss, they refused to kick him for another dps. Finally they caved in, and as i requed group to get that one more dps in, mage kept declining to select roles and not get another. I kept doing it, and so did he. I refused to tank anymore cause this person was being such a tool, then i got kicked.

I kinda like healing for idiot PUGs.
Think about it like hard-mode 5 mans. The more random damage your DPSers absorb, the more difficult it is to complete the run. It's super fun when you run at the edge of your ability in those runs, and succeed. Unfortunately, that changes to a total bummer when the group starts wiping, and won't be better. Those runs you should just split and go find something else to do during the timer. It's really not worth sweating bad PUGs. Look at them as an opportunity to maybe have a great time. |
