Hello, i have been having deciding which would be best for ranged dps (i will only be elemental for shammy) i cant seem which to be. if you guys could help that would be awsome, i am looking for
-pvp (damage and survival)
-pve(damage,how often im at the top or near the top of charts
-how useful/wanted am i in dungeons/raid
- if people are impressed that i can do all that damage and not be like oh its cause he is op
if you guys can support your opinions that would be great, thanks

Impressing people with your damage doesn't have to do with how your damage stacks up against other classes, it just has to do with how you stack up against others of the same spec as you. So whichever you pick, you can attempt to be awesome and know that people will recognize you for it. Though if you really wanta stand out just by being mediocre, you could choose a hunter, since there's still some people with that whole huntard stigma so assuming you know to put your pet on passive they'll consider you a genius.
RDPS is usually the more useful for raids/dungeons, and both hunters and ele shamans fulfill that role.
Right now hunters are considered pretty terrible in PvP.
As for your #2 and #3, they sound like the exact same point and not too sure what to say about it. The devs have the knobs to tune DPS, hopefully they get on it. But just because they have the knobs doesn't mean that they aren't tuned right when you do bad, it might just mean you're doing bad.

Considering you have PvP first on your list, I would guess that's a priority for you. Consequently I would stay away from Hunter for a while, they are nowhere near finished for PvP. Not just the myriad bugs, but design direction as well.
