Am I supposed to rez if they don't release?

I kick people who don't run back when I do. I have no problem rezzing partial wipes, mistakes, or people who had to go to the bathroom or w/e. But if you just want to alt tab while I run back, you're not getting a rez.

I do give a warning. "Release and run back, the GY is 2 feet away." (They all are now there is no excuse.) If I get a snarky reply, I vote kick with the reason given as "Lazy @ss." They always pass too. :)

"Making the someone rez you is a waste of mana"

Not only is it a waste of mana when there's a group wipe, its a tremendous waste of time.

  • Healer runs back. Party picks noses.

  • Healer drinks because it will take a full mana bar. 30 seconds.

  • Healer starts resses. Healer flustered by repeated REZ ME cries. 50 seconds.

  • Healer is out of mana, sits down to drink. Party picks noses. HEAL PLZ. 30 seconds.

  • Healer heals party. Healer is out of mana. Warlock lifetaps to 10 hp. 30 seconds.

  • At this point, the party probably starts to pull. The healer has no mana, and the Warlock is nearly dead.

If a healer gets a "considerate" group, they get to drink again (another 30 seconds).

Full time for wipe recovery: 170 seconds, assuming flawless execution. For the math-challenged, that's just under 3 minutes after the healer gets to everyone's corpses.

Of course, everyone could've just run back, and eaten/drank while the healer did. Time to wipe recovery: 30 seconds.

The party just wasted two and a half minutes of everyone's time by being lazy. And that's assuming they don't cause another wipe immediately by pulling while the healer is still out of mana.

So very very much of this. I could not have said this better. It takes a stupid amount of mana to do anything at 85 so this is just going to get worse.

If everyone has died, everyone should run back. I generally won't rez after running back unless the wipe was somehow my fault, or unless someone has to afk for a good reason and asked nicely.

I'm not a monster, after all.

If they try to pull that crap, just get back to their corpses, stand on them, and say "oh crap brb". Pretend to be afk until they release and run back. Alt tab and read forums or watch tv or something if you have to, lol.

On a related note, why does an ability like rez even have a mana cost? You can only use it out of combat and it doesn't effect a combat fight in any way, just seems like a way of wasting time.

"AFK grabbing a drink while you guys run back." Makes it clear that they're not getting a rez and that you're not around to discuss it.

    If everybody dies, everybody runs.

While a nice narrative, it actually doesn't work that way in reality.

What actually happens is that the healer runs back and arrives, full mana (since he had plenty of time while running to regen it). He then rezzes everyone, drinks, and you go.

If you instead force everyone to run back, there's a near certainty that someone will be slower than the healer (who, after all, is probably the most experienced at 'running back to the dungeon' - by a couple of minutes - and everyone will have to wait for them.

The "I don't rez on wipes" is another one of those issues where people shoot themselves in the foot for the sake of some sort of vague 'fairness' principle. Someone has to run back to rez. 5 people do not.

I was just kicked from a group because I didn't rez the people that were too lazy to run back. I told them right when we wiped (which was only a wipe because the dumbass tank pulled while I was back resting for mana) that they would have to run back. It was a 5 man. Should people be allowed to do housework/watch porn/etc while the healer has to run back?

People who wait for a rez while the rest of their group (hell, even anyone else in the group) is running back are jackasses. Unless they have a good excuse ("Ugh, sorry I need to brb restroom" or something), eff em.

I do not rez %@##!!*s who refuse to run back and expect rezzes. Those individuals are pathetic and I have no respect for them. I LOVE when it's the tank who refuses to run back when the group wipes, like he thinks hes high and mighty royalty.

If they're too lazy to run back I'm going to be too lazy to rez them. If they boot me I can instantly requeue and will be in another instance before they're up anyway.

If it's a wipe and they don't run back I refuse to res.

Basically, if I have to run, you have to run. It's only fair.

^ that! if they communicate and say they had to "brb bio" "kids fighting" "mailman" "house on fire" etc. I am more likely to res them though

I ask "Why didn't you run back with the rest of us?"

A: I haven't been here before and don't really know my way back. - gets a rez.

A: I'm sorry, I had to go AFK for a min to help my kid. - gets a rez.

A: Just rez me already. - no rez for you.

Generally if you don't run back but you're polite about it, I'll rez you. If you're an ass, expect the same treatment back.

With a certain guild leveling perk pretty soon every single member of the group will have the ability to perform a group rez.

You can take turns not running back. (unless you wipe twice in <10 minutes!)
