Spoiler warning, for those who haven't quested through Tirisfal Glades yet.

This character has a lot of potential, but from what I understand any mention of her ends with the end of her quest line.

Here's the basic run down: Lilian was recently raised from the dead. If you remember from pre-Shattering, she was the one you show the mirror to so she can see her new form and accept her new fate. Previously, she would just run upstairs and cower in the corner.

Now, she has her own storyline. She runs off calling for her father. Later you find out she gets captured by the Scarlet Crusade and imprisoned, rather than killed. She finds out her father basically disowns her, and she passes through the bars of her cage, ignites herself in purple flames and instantly kills her former comrade.

Later on in the zone you find dozens of Scarlets killed in the same fashion, until you encounter Lilian again yourself. You escort her to her father, a Priest of the Scarlet Crusade, where you find out that basically she gave up her childhood to become a weapon for the Scarlets, doing everything she could to become more powerful. She kills her father for ordering her execution and runs off, and that's that.

What intrigues me of course is her powers, which aren't like any we've seen before. If you've done the escort you'll know what I mean: she obliterates everything in her path, one-shots multiple Scarlets at once and is basically a killing machine made of purple fire.

I was wondering what sort of theories have been surfacing about her. Being once part of the Scarlet Crusade I'm personally wondering about the implications of her being forged into a new host for Mal'Ganis, since he's so involved with the Crusade. The combination of what she's shown us and Mal'Ganis could make for some interesting results. Of course now that she's undead there will be problems if that was the original plan.

What do you all think?

I have not yet done the new Forsaken starting zone, but hopefully I will do it sometimes this week on an undead hunter. But yes, I am VERY interested in Lilian and hope blizzard does more with her story. She sounds really awesome.

I can't tell what she is.

Either she represents the typical, "Forsaken who lives for Vengeance against their former loved ones..." or she's some sort of future plot point for them.

This is a very very wide stretch, but I had assumed she was being trained to wield the light for a purely offensive manner ( unlike priest and paladins ) and when she died that's how it manifested itself.

She seems more like a shadow priest mixed with martial arts.

It's possible that she's a vessel for a demon, but I guess we'll hear about that later.
Lilian in game isn't all that good either, I took a wrong turn and the Scarlet Monastery mobs killed her.

You know, I've been pondering that purple fire ever since I first encountered Lillian, and trying to figure out what it is. Lillian was one of the Scarlet Crusade, which was derived from the Knights of the Silver Hand way back when. An order of paladins, so it's safe to assume that Lillian herself was a paladin. So ... what happens when a paladin uses the holy light? They flare up with holy energy, like flame. Priests also use the holy light, but there are some that use the shadow as well, flickering with purple energy and casting harmful spells.

So...maybe Miss Voss is the first example we've seen of a shadow paladin...

Not all Scarlets were Paladins.

And because I can see where this is going, no. The Forsaken will never and should never get Paladins.
