All melee need an instant gap closer

Locks can't operate at all without peels if the other team is pounding them. So by your logic they would need to give locks more gap openers since omg having to have a teammate peel or snare for you is just bad game design. The fears you have don't open enough gaps for you? Then say so, make posts, otherwise it's obviously not as big an issue for you as closing gaps is for rets, hence all the posts. What does ret bring, that holy and prot do not, that makes you want them more than any other spec? i'll let some other melee hold my opponents in place while i unload on them. the same thing i've been doing for like four years now, really. So 2v1 or bust? Ya, that really sounds like what a pld is all about |

So 2v1 or bust? Ya, that really sounds like what a pld is all about Yeah this is something that bothers me. Im all for cooperative play, and each person brining their own thing... But when it comes down to it, people will be in a 1v1 situation and each person should have the basic utilities to be able to stand on their feet. The better player should win because they are better, not lose because their spec just cant go against certain specs that hard counter them. |

So 2v1 or bust? Ya, that really sounds like what a pld is all about What i don't get is since this game isn't balanced around 1v1, how do they decide who is balanced and when? I mean some specs can really just outright win duels or fair very well, i just don't see how specs that really struggle in 1v1 suddenly become competitive in 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 etc because then that means you take an overall weak spec and pair it with an overall strong spec, and there you have balance. But why do that? Why not just pair a Strong spec and another even decent spec, something better than that weak spec? I don't see specs becoming THAT much stronger in a group to the point that there's no real difference in overall effectiveness of the group between 2 strong specs and a weak spec, vs 2 strong spec and a decent spec |

ITT: A bunch of sissy little warriors crying that they have never been as good as Paladins when everyone knows that is bull@#!*. Seriously, man up girls.
Ret doesn't need an instant gap closer, it needs all it's abilities balanced out damage wise, less auto attack rng, better dispell protection on vital class mechanics, and a combat/mastery system that doesn't clash with itself every chance it gets. But meh, we all know that ret has been top of the line in arenas for the past year. Everyone wanted one on their team, isn't that right? |

You make some good points. Enhance gap closer is not instant, but I like it. It works but needs a few factors to make it so..... -Frost shock snare, plus root if too far. -Ghost wolf plus anti snare -Shear/grounding totem to prevent incoming damage while closing that gap. I think Ret is almost there.....but the speed boost from laotl should have some anti snare to it, and the Judge from Justice should perhaps daze them when they are too far away. Self cleanse is good but I don't remember if it works on roots anymore. The last tool they need is a way to prevent or tank incoming damage at range while closing the gap. For us it's our shear/grounding used in preventive measures. For the pally, it used to be cleanses to keep damage off you plus the sacred shield to absorb some damage. They have lost both and I can't tell yet but they might need something to help if kited. Also....I agree that Repentance, Divine Protection, and Inquisition/Zealotry should be undispellable. |

The main problem with ret is the dispell's and no real defensive cooldowns. I find it hilarious that only a single mediocre hunter ability was in your comparison. Maybe this is Blizzard saying at least you're playing by someone's rules. It's just the class no one really wants to be the same as. |
