Paladin questions.

Recently, I've decided that I want to roll a paladin, thinking this, I had some questions I needed to answer from people who have one.

My first question is: Is ret still the choice to go with leveling now?

I plan to pvp when I get to the level cap. So, what spec should I go?

Adding onto the pvp question: Should I level just in pvp or go questing, I have heard questing has been improved a lot now.

Since I do plan to pvp, should I pick Tauren or Blood Elf? My thinking on this is, Tauren's in pvp, is like an elephant among rabbits. But then, Blood Elves are harder to see, yet the Tauren's racial seems like it would possibly help in pvp.

So, at that, I shall end it here and leave it to you guys to help me out!

prot is the best leveling spec.

holy is still the most reliable PvP spec (consistent patch to patch)

questing is fastest, do what you enjoy. The journey is the destination.

Belfs are better suited to holy PvP

1) Ret or Prot.

2) Holy or Prot.

3) Questing.

4) Belf is better for pvp.

Edit: Gidgite beat me to it.

The people before me pretty much laid it out. I'd go prot for leveling. Hard to kill with damn good damage output.

The only thing I can add is for leveling. If you are looking to level the fastest way possible then you want to Quest while queuing up for random dungeons regularly. Now that they added dungeon quests to the start of every dungeon you'll pick up fast exp and great gear this way. Only hit battlegrounds on the weekends if you are able to get into the bg that has a Call To Arms. A win in a Call to Arms bg can earn you 25% - 50% of a level in earlier levels.

Prot levelling is awesome.
Solo'd Durn the Hungerer and the Ring of Blood quests in Nagrand at 65-66.
Also solo'd all the group quests in dragonblight in the 73-75s. (including the 5 person ones)

It wasn't easy, but it was do-able!

(your mileage may vary)

I meant at 80, I think it does ok at lower levels, but I can't vouch for that.
