This thread however has inspired me to try Grid2 and Clique. I don't know about Grid. either. But Grid2 just shows a box with the party members names and their pets directly below them (I was in a 5 man, not a raid). Click on one, target that person. Their box goes grey if they are out of range. The color portion of their box goes down as they lose heath and a number indicates how much health they have lost. If you cast a HOT on them, the countdown that the spell is active appears in the corner of the their box. If they have a harmful effect on them, the color around the boarder of their box changes. All in all, I found it very intuitive and easy to figure out.
I assume most people are familiar with Clique. I've bound my heals to my keyboard's numberpad. Num1 for my first cast heal (I was playing a lowbie alt druid. It will be my shield on this character). Num2 for my second most used heal, and so on. Num5 for my cure effect spell. You get the idea. I've been using Healium for a long time, but I got the hang of this much quicker than I thought I would.
I also installed CoolLine Cooldowns so I can see when my heals with a cast time are useable again.
I dunno, maybe it's not as elegant as Vuhdoo, but it's really easy for me to use and seems to work well enough. I'm finding that I really don't miss Healium at all, I'm pretty glad to be rid of it, actually, so thanks to all of you for suggesting an alternative I can actually wrap my head around.
