How much is everyone charging to craft cataclysm items? I am not making anything for anyone for less than 25-50g. With obsidium ore going for 400-600g a stack,, elementium going for about 250g a stack, and volitile earth going for 11-15g each. Blacksmithing costs thousands right now to level even if you are a miner.
I had one person ask me to make a bunch of redsteel patterns. He whined when I asked for 35g for each cataclysm item crafted. So I lowered it to 25g. He then whined again telling me that he never charged anything for blacksmiths. I told him that is why blacksmithing sucks so bad. I gave him some advice and told him he should charge at least 10g an item like JCs do. He then tried to haggle me down to 40g for 3 cata items. Almost caved in until he told me by my standards I should be charging 10g a item, I then told him to get lost. How much are fellow blacksmiths and crafters going to be asking for crafted items. Lets see where the market will take it. I'm sure then will be some charging too much, I'm sure there will be some undercutting, and even more there will be idiots charging nothing. It cost me thousands to level early cata. I am charging for all but guildies. |

I say keep strong, I honestly haven't leveled BS since Cata was released but that was because I don't have the G to buy anything. You're doing it right though, don't take no for an answer, tell them what YOU charge.

I'm selling bloodied pyrium right now for 750g per piece. Mats are about 250g (though volatile fire spikes sometimes and might raise the price to 400g). You can certainly do better than 50g markup per item.

I hope everyone does this. It's silly for anyone to give away their hard earned services. You spend thousands of gold leveling professions. The opportunity cost of not having 2 gathering professions that you just sell the mats from is huge.
