Can We Agree? Heroics are not Puggable?

My Guild is not at the stage to be running heroics yet.
So I've been trying to Pug them. As it stands, they just don't seem puggable. Of course PUGing has always been hit or miss. I just waited 35 mins and got into a Random Heoric. 4 people from same guild. 1 priest, and 3 Warriors! For Stonecore. :( I was in a patient mood, but after the 4th wipe on the 1st boss I dropped group. At this stage they are barely puggable. Time for me to go back to the slow Normal random rep grinds and dailies. |

Fair to say the Failure rate for heroic pugs is well over 90%
Failure rate for heroic guild run events over 80% Thats just too high and Blizzard knows it. Most of the problem can be broken into 2 major issues. First being healer mana and amount healed...its a freaking joke. Wonder why theres a 40 minute queue? No one wants to heal. Second is the random factor on what classes you get going into heroics. Get too many melee class DPS and odds are you failed before you start. leaves the 3rd problem. AoE mob damage is so high DPS melee people should frequent flyer miles running from the graveyard back to the instance. |

Stonecore is very hard. You need to be on the ball for the bosses, but it actually gets easier (IMO) as you go. Basically, if you can kill boss 1 you can kill them all. I had about 8 wipes today on him and probably about the same yesterday. Someone always gets hit in the underground phase, or adds aren't killed fast enough, but eventually the group will get their crap together and down him.

agreed
i pug on avg about 3 heroics everyday, takes me about 40min to get into one and it took me 4 days to finally find a group to complete one to get my valor points. players simply dont know how to CC, assist or use wowhead.com to research the mechanics of a fight also im' seeing a far bit of bullying going on too which really makes for a bad run i quit heroics i spent too much time getting nowhere instead my advice is level up an alt and in a few more weeks heroics will seem easier. there will be more tanks n healers to speed up queues and the shenanigans of these heroics will pass. |

Corborus is probably the hardest boss of any Cata heroic, at least from my experience. Seriously, I've completed numerous heroics in PuGs, half PuGs, guild runs, etc.
So no, I don't agree, because I know it's not true. In fact, the first week of doing heroics is hard, the second week is "we can do this", and by the fourth week I can see "Jesus, can we finish this any faster?". Many groups I'm seeing have heals and tank geared to the point where minimal or no CC is used on some pulls (harder trash pulls still require some CC, though). |

Yeah, I've been improving my stats, enchants, I've been reading Elitist jerks. This has actually helped my dps.
But when I'm placed in a random group of people who aren't up to speed.... well I can't carry a group. |

There are always going to be idiots. But trust me, there are plenty of competent people out there; you just need to kick baddies who refuse to follow simple orders from the group and cause wipes (which I find are getting increasingly rare since Cata hit XD).
Actually, what I've found is that all the retarded people are migrating from heroics to BGs, because even mouth-breathers get SOME honor there. P.S.: Corborus is easily the hardest boss in that instance because his second phase punishes stupidity quite harshly. He's not hard with competent people (actually, no boss is), but any ignorance or lag from either your tank or healer and you've wiped...and gear won't help that **#%. Name another boss where you can go from doing well to "we're screwed" as fast as Corborus because one person made a mistake. :> |

I healed 3 or 4 pugs today and they all went well. There's been bad days tho where it's just in and out of bad groups and I'm sure I'd focus more on them if my queues were that long.
They're all pugable and I think the 90% figure is way too high. I'd put it at 50% success rate on pugs right now and it'll only get easier over the next few weeks. |

I've had plenty of good pugs. About as many good ones as bad ones.
|
Made-up percentages are made up. I really need a hobby. |
14 attempts today but people kept dropping. I was the only one who stayed from beginning of instance until I just had to leave. People drop after 1 wipe. They want to kick folks. They blame everyone. They argue and strut and posture. It is so frustrating. Just shut up, put your ego down, and try harder. After 14 attempts I was the only one who ever stayed alive very long. Had everyone from my original group stayed, we would've downed that boss and moved on to the next. It's a shame. I have ADD and I can focus more than most of the people I end up pugging with. |

I don't agree. I've been able to PuG many heroics.

Didn't get random'd in Stonecore heroic yet I think as a tank, but completed it in a pug on my dps alt.
Don't see the issue with being unpuggable. First boss is on the dps not being retarded, second boss is on the group not being retarded, third boss is on the tank not being retarded, fourth boss is free loot. So uh. I guess you can't be retarded and complete it. Adding my 3 85 toons, I think I've completed all the heroics in pugs so far. So yeah, they're definitly puggable. PS- My toons are dps, dps, tank. Hunter, Warlock, Warrior. |

I would say I've had about a 2/3 clear rate when queuing alone (as tank). I queued with a guild healer for a random heroic yesterday and got Halls of Origination; we one-shot the whole place despite some of the DPS not knowing the fights.
Biggest problem in my experience is that somebody will bail after a few wipes on a boss, and then we bring in a new person, who needs a few attempts to learn the fight. After those few attempts, someone else bails, and we never get a group full of people who've had more than a few attempts. This will be less of an issue when most people queuing know most of the fights, partly because wipes will happen less, but also because the new person will usually know the fight. |
