Why does PvP gear have expertise on it..?
12/18/2010 7:40 PMPosted by MinotaurumYou will when Feral Druids and fellow Rogues, along with the requisite Prot specs, show their faces in Arena. And aren't being stunned.
Yeah, I can't wait to blam through 15% Dodge, Parry and Block rates (combined for protection specs!) with the whole 1.5% expertise I get from the shoulders. That's going to be awesome.
12/18/2010 7:47 PMPosted by ZingExp isn't actually a bad DPS stat, and given that we have more choices with reallocating stats due to reforging, going for dodge soft cap isn't a terrible idea. That's what I'm doing by reforging haste and hit(after capped).
The problems being
1) You're supposed to attack from behind anyway, diminishing the importance.
2) The soft cap isn't even close to being worth it.
3) You can't reforge all of it, so you're then stuck with some useless amount of expertise and 1/2 the stats.
4) Even with all the expertise it only caps vs casters. You will never get enough expertise to cap vs any melee class, which you don't even want anyway.
12/19/2010 1:57 AMPosted by TonîcA little bit of expertise is nice to have to remove caster dodge, like on your Shoulders. If you don't want more Expertise on your non-set gear then buy the alternatives or reforge it.
caster dodge is like 5%, you don't even get enough to cap that from the pvp gear. Also, you don't want that in the first place, we never wanted it, and we still don't.
Plus, it's the first season of the expansion. Blizzard doesn't want you to have perfect stat allocation this early.
12/19/2010 7:33 AMPosted by Resonancet doesn't matter that you're supposed to melee from behind. Your opponents are supposed to do everything to prevent that, so it's inevitable that you melee from the front for non-insignificant amounts of time.
This is very true.
Personally, I wont be buying the shoulders or any piece with expertise on it. So I'll definately be wearing 4 pieces of pve gear this season.
