I wish you alliance folks good luck in your raiding endeavors.
If you get a group together for bastion, don't get discouraged by the trash. It's probably harder than the first boss is, lol. Be sure to bring a fire mage for imba whelp DPS. Combustion -> Impact AoE, 70k+ DPS for the first seconds (hardest part of the fight), working as intended. |

gothos you can't really give them to much crap as far as our server over all is going we have 3 horde guilds that have progression and thats really it , that really isn't much to brag about .... 90% of the server horde / and ally side don't really get very far until further patches when either something is nerfed / or you get a fat buff in a raid, to be honest I don't know wtf is up between the sundering and despondency but it would make more sense to work together then to be trying to one up each other, both guilds have extremely good players seems like a waste to not progress at the same time
I'm sure I'll get crap for this from both sides but whatever, all of it is pointless |

I just wrote an incredibly epic post and the forum ate it.
My sadness is great, but greater still is my sadness for those of you who will not be able to read it. Here is the TL;DR - Mergers are great in theory, but awful in practice. Inevitably, more people are made worse off than better, and ultimately the resulting guild crumbles due to lack of cohesion. However, despite my lack of optimism - the fact remains that there are very strong potential benefits. A merger might work - but only with lots of talking, planning and thought. Even after doing all that, it is likely that you will have uncovered some major problems that the respective guild leadership can't work around, and because of that they do not move forward with the merge. Trying a merge without doing all that though is pretty much guild suicide. In any event, I'm a grunt and these sorts of things are not only above my head, but above my ears, and since I'm a blood elf that's really saying something. While a merger might result in better 25s for me, I think a better course of action would be for me to use an alt in your guild to spread discord and mistrust so I could destroy it from within and Despondency could pick up the good players afterwards. Not that I'm doing that already or anything. (Just kidding ;p) |
In the game I played before WoW, I ran a pvp guild which when we "merged" with another guild, it was pretty much to destroy them and absorb their good pvpers. I have never seen a guild merger work online. Something always happens or there are always hidden reasons. People strive for competition, merging the good guilds just would be a horrible idea. What sounds better? 1. A realm first where there is no competition or 2. A realm first where there IS competition and you came out on top I would rather have number 2. |

[quote="16580098820"]What sounds better? Where your reasoning failed is that realm firsts aren't worth %@%# when your realm is as fail as Drak'thul was for Tier 10. Here is the real "What sounds better?": 1. A realm first which is a world 200th where there is no competition 2. A realm first which is a world 2000th where there is competition and you came out on top And the answer is #1 Drak'thul "competition" right now between The Sundering and Despondency for 25s right now is kind of like the Special Olympics. Frankly it doesn't matter who does better on Drak'thul if our placement with respect to other servers is a total joke. Even if one guild comes 2000th to the other guild's 2100th... the fact is they both lost. Personally though, I don't really give a turd about competition. My only goal is to overcome the content while it is a challenge, and that means my goal is to clear as much as I can of 4.0 content before patch 4.1 (Firelands) comes and we outgear it. |
|
Competition is what a lot of the guilds strive for. If no one cared about competition then they wouldn't try so hard to be the first on the realm, or to have higher rankings than other servers.
Despondency doesn't need The Sundering. The Sundering needs Despondency. |

Good read.

this is almost exactly what I ment haha, I'd rather have fun with the game and clear the content then to have it feel like I'm competing to boost my EP , I cleared up to frostwing back in january then quit playing , when i came back every idiot had the king slayer title ..... that just seems stupid to me, this game has be come to casual don't you agree ? |

haha love that Gratz on your progression with NO competition at all, but hell i know i'll get around to raiding eventually...

It'll be a while before we've got a set raid group figured out, so I'll basically be a free agent until then. Feel free to contact me if you need a healer, I'm getting antsy to start raiding.
