Anyone else just "not feeling it" this time?
|
I feel the same way. Though I would attribute it to Cata taking so long that I largely transitioned to StarCraft II and trouble finding a late night raiding guild on my server that wants a tank. That combo has really taken the life out of WoW for me.

Yeah, I dont know what it is, but I just mostly log in, maybe do a BG or two, talk to the guildies, then log off for Starcraft 2 or something.
Meh. |

It is what it is. Tastes change. Now, I think a lot of people use the game as a $14.99 a month chat program, more than anything else. I was really burned out and had not played Warcraft for about a 8 months before the release of this expansion. 3 weeks in, and I'm as bored as I was before I left the first time.

It's interesting that you chose MMO instead of FPS then. If other people affect your enjoyment, this probably isn't the genre for you. Just sayin', it's the nature of this beast. But people are discovering in this thread what should be self-evident. No single activity, hobby, game can entertain you forever. Sometimes, you just need to do something different. You can blame Blizzard for a natural human tendency for the same-old to feel same-old after years, if it makes you feel better. But honestly, it isn't the content, it's the player. |

and there in lies the problem. for those of us that find MMO type games the bees knees, WoW has the market cornered. There simply is no real alternative. Yet! |

SC2 pvp is so much better than pvp in WoW, It really glaringly shows up how bad wow pvp is. So yeah tonight is my last night of gametime in wow and I'm on the forum... waiting around for one last bg |

I do not think anyone that has replied to this thread is blamming blizzard for anything. I get the feeling that most just feel the game has run its course and are looking forward to something different. It is what it is. |

IMO they cut too many corners to get it out for a Christmas-season release... which financially was a fantastic move for them, in regards to gameplay, it's been a real pain.
The game shows a total lack of polish. Worgen should NOT be getting dumped into Darkshore at level 13... when it's a level 10 zone. You outlevel the quests before you even start them, and they're all linear chains. But yeah, I'm in the same boat... the game just doesn't grab me like it did in the past... here I am, home after work, when I'm usually playing, and instead I'm reading the forums for entertainment. That says something, I think... |

Oh, there are lots of alternatives, literally hundreds of niche games that are every bit as much fun to play (if targeted at a more limited audience). You just have to look for something as completely different from this game as you can find. If it's too similar, you just start wanting GameX to be Just Like WoW...GameX will never satisfy if you hold it up to the Juggernaut standard and expect it to compare. |

^ This, and the fact you can be level 80 wearing your T10 and have NPCs tell you stories about Northrend and Wrathgate... but you were there too! |

I'm not sure what it was exactly, I think I was expecting it to be different from WotLK and BC, but you soon fall into the same routine of run heroics, do dailies. Anything else you can do was already there in WotLK. I don't know, I played for a little bit today after a week and a half break, but after an hour and a half I wasn't feeling it.

Read the first sentence of the post below yours. I agree, it's not always the players blaming the company for their ennui in the late stages of an older game--but they often do. I've seen this syndrome play out in older games a half dozen times, the patterns are always pretty similar. For individuals, of course, YMWV. |
