I started playing a few months before BC.
<Forest of Feelings>
<Cult of Nerox> <-----Now <Dark Sun Cabal> (Direbear, if you're reading this, rot in hell.)
<Fine Young Cannibals>
Currently dinkin' around on Wrymrest Accord on a 10 day Mists trial. Thinking I might stick around. The Warlock class is nothing like I remember it and I like what I see.
I started playing in the middle of BC on my shaman, Orbitallife. Got recruited to <Cult of Nerox>, became an officer in it, then was one of the officers that left and founded <Dark Sun Cabal>. Now I'm the GM and all of the other founding officers left the game, except for Kelthuzadia who is trying to revive the cult, under the name <The Cult of Nerox>.
Although I WANT to echo your statement about Direbear rotting in hell, Nerox, in the end I can take a step back and realize that in order for the cult to remain viable, certain changes were necessary and Direbear would not have had the drive or ambition to make it a reality. So really, it's all for the best. Nerox, your name lives on in the most successful RP guild Horde side, and that's really all that matters. ;-) everything happens for a reason and leading this guild has been one of the biggest blessings I have received in my short life so far. The IRL friendships and relationship that I have cultivated here are what make this server my home for the rest of the World of Warcraft's existence. In particular, I want to thank the following people for being such a great friend and confidant over the years:
Truenoir, Damendread, Kelthuzadia, Samidar, Nefictarius, Prada (Paeris), Illuminoss, Claudio, Mistea (Candyz), Reburk (Eggsan), Karadon, Aeodin, Nichi, Shannondryl, Mizerlee, Sanatarium, Kritische, Raharwa, Knyara, Kreznor (Simmons), Jinju, Voliska, Bassrusher, Butterfaces, Holydeath, Zukgral (thanks for being the !@#$%^- who made me talk to your gm and merge our guilds; lol, <3 u), and last but not least, Darkgodess. Dark, you taught me the most important lesson of WoW; the person you think you know in game is often exactly the way they are IRL. I will repeat Nerox's sentiment towards Direbear and direct it towards you. I hope your manipulative, dishonest corpse rots in hell for all of the pain that you have caused not only myself but at least half of the RPers on Lightninghoof.
If I forgot to mention someone it's probably because I haven't had my coffee yet. Sorry. ;-) I love you, Lightninghoof!
Dark Regent & Confessor
Dark Sun Cabal
llama, Obesity, Undeadlegend, ryse, Rowan, Customs, old school atrayne, Longarms, Awakening pvp battles with Rekoning, that little bastard affliction lock in those epic av wars. Those were the good ol' days.
<------ goregutz, cryptopsy orc war, and dissection orc hunter. Started when the server first hit.
I started RPing in early BC, towards the foundation of <Cult of Nerox>, which I was guilded to for majority of my early RP days (Zapheren used to be a paladin back then).
I was in and out of CoN a lot but was a regular face in it's early days up until my ban, which was from Direbear, the day after Kel re-invited me. I stepped foot into <Cult of Luukos>, <Four Winds> (Maybe?), <Forgotten> (My failed attempt at an RP guild), and <Dark Sun Cabal> for very short periods of times. I spent a majority of my time in Cataclysm in the guild <Order of the Ice> (which has a very small RP player base).
During the spring of this year, Kelthuzadia and I got back in contact and decided to bring back <Cult of Nerox>. Unfortunately, Direbear was camping the old guild just enough to where GMs could not give Kelthuzadia the guild back (no matter how many times her and I petitioned). So in late June she and I resurrected the cult under the guild name <The Undying Cult>. We've had a very slow start, due to being busy IRL and of course the lull that cataclysm brought to the game. We're still small, and a good chunk of the members are alts of Kel's and myself.
We've been trying to get back in contact with a lot of the older RPers of Lightninghoof (Nerox especially), but are having trouble bringing those who are now established on WrA into the mix. I'm on nearly every night and Kel tries to be on a few times a week, so if anybody is interested in helping out, please contact one of us. I talk to Kel on a daily basis, so you can easily get in contact with her through me.
Thank you all for the many years of interesting and lucrative RP experiences on Lightninghoof; I hope that one day we can rebuild the community to it's former glory, or maybe beyond that of the bittersweet (mostly sweet) nostalgia.
- Sir Zapheren Quinn Greywolfe, Dark Viceroy of Nerox's cult.
Herro? I haven't played in a year and a half, but started on Lightninghoof the day it went live. I joined a zerg guild called The Ironforge Council at first, then moved on to Knights of the Ram where I stayed for a while until moving briefly to Atrum Immortalis before it merged with Abbey of the Blessed Keg to become The Immortal Keg. Had awesome times in the old Keg, many great memories and awesome peeps.
Anyway, giving the game another go and wanted to say hi to my favorite server. Peace and have fun!
i ganked all of you alliance from vanilla wow until Cata. now im back and i see the server has died.
what a shame.
anyway im going to gear up and in 5.2 i will gank all your leveling alts, all of your 90's trying to do any dailies, and ruin your days camping you until you log off for the day, again, for the 5th day straight.
best wishes and watch your back.
day one roller.
Quink, you're the best man.
by the way, Obesity had his own faction. he was not horde, he was not alliance, he was OBESITY.
does anyone remember, and i'm going way back if you're a day one roller like me, an elf named "elf" in ashara who would gank lowbies 5-10 levels lower than him? he was in my guild and sounded like he smoked 3 packs a day. He was raging, but I always really liked him. I hope someone remembers him because he said he went to iraq in 2005 and i haven't heard from him in years. i fear the worst.
