I own two accounts and have canceled both; I'd like to give this one to my friend. I am willing to delete all the characters off it and physically hand over the game CDs and login information to my friend as if I were selling my copy of FFX-2, which I won't, because I love dress spheres. No gold, no level 80's, nothing. I don't need it, she's curious to play, and I think it works well. It is upgraded through WoTLK, so she'll save some money, too.
This item is linked to one of my RealIDs. Can I unlink it and hand it over? Again, this is not selling my characters on ebay. I don't want her to do some odd tap-dance with game cards or paying me each month. I'd like to just wish her well and get it off of my hands. (Alas, she'll take my Lil' XT with her, but w/e). |

Short answer: You can't do anything you are talking about.
Longer answer: You can't do anything you are talking about because you are not allowed to share, trade, sell, gift or otherwise transfer control of your account to another person. Doing so is a direct violation of the ToU and can result in a permanent ban being placed on the account in question. If your friend is curious, she can download the 10-day trial and go from there. But you are not, under any circumstances, allowed to do what you are talking about. |

Only two people are EVER allowed to access the account (from the moment the account is created to the end of time). Who are those two people? The first is the person who set up the account in their own name (you aren't allowed to set up an account in any name other than your own legal name). The second is one (1) of the children or trustees (under age 18) of the first person. Not siblings, not parents, not spouses, not friends, not strangers. |

Well, I won't belabor the can't sell, gift or trade account portion of this as that's been amply answered above.
What I would recommend is that you set your friend up under our RAF program. It's pretty awesome and gives both sides some very tasty benefits :) Recruit a Friend FAQ http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=20588 Sometimes it's easier to think of a WoW account like a non-transferable gym membership. |
