Certain Borean Tundra-ites have had some bad experiences with our guild's members and feel the need to badmouth our entire guild and insult its members. Well, I cannot possibly explain away each event in question but I can tell you this: we are a great guild. You'll have to excuse us from lacking a little hubris from time to time because we are a proud bunch. Proud of what each of us have put into the guild and proud of what we've accomplished together.
Over the last two years that I've raided with many of the current members of <Risen from the Ashes>, there's been a lot of ups and downs. Especially since the release of Cataclysm, many nights we are hindered by starting raids late and barely filling the 25 slots in the raid. I think this is why we each take so much ownership and pride in our guild because we can each see the direct results of our performance and contribution to the team in the raid progression we've made thus far.
We're damn proud of that progress too. Of course we need to be brought back down to earth from time to time, lest our egos get too big. :)
The members of <Risen from the Ashes> are a great group, and I wouldn't still be here after all this time if that wasn't the truth. I can't say I have the pleasure of knowing any of my fellow guildies in real life. It's been the virtual ties that have kept me hooked.
Trust me, we'd rather be left alone than have what comes up in Trade from time to time. We're not elitist. We're not seeking record kills, or concerned with them. We're seeking improvement, and I think that's something we continually do every raid day. We are human though. But bad days and bad moods aside, I guarantee all you have to do is get to know us to recognize we're not so bad after all.
Our basic concept is running a 25-man raid progression guild on Borean Tundra. Snarky comments aside, I'm happy with our progress thus far (12/12 normal 1/13 HM) and I'm looking forward to our future up-and-coming heroic kills in BoT and BWD in the coming weeks. Although just a plain old raider, I'm sure I can help you get an invite to <Risen to the Ashes> if you find yourself interested in who we are and what we do. The GM is, of course, Outlawking... though forgive me for not figuring out the ASCII symbols in his various toons' names. (Mine is only four letters, regular alphabet, if that is any consolation)
I currently have two raid-ready alts that I mean to begin pugging raids on the weekends with, so maybe we will have the pleasure of raiding together in the near future. Thanks for reading.
