The big thread of RP [Post your profiles!]
|
Surprising to not see an RP profiles thread like the old forums. Ah well, I guess it's about time one was made.
Figured I'd throw in some additional RP-related stuff as well and make it a compilation. If you use any special RP addons, feel free to let me know so I can add them here. If you have any ongoing RP events, let me know too. Contents 1. Guilds and ongoing events 2. Tips 3. Addons and resources 4. Profile template |

<Channels>
In game channels for anyone interested just type /join and the channel name, but remember, keep your ooc chat to the ooc channel! Some of you might not know how these channels work. They don't act as a room your characters sit in and chat, they're more like a walkie-talkie. So, you won't actually see the character speaking to you, nor will you know they're name until they introduce themselves. Likewise, since it's a walkie talkie, obviously emotes won't be seen- the channel is purely verbal interaction. <Tips>
Some basic tips for actual roleplay, from DA user Ryleen: http://aldriona.deviantart.com/art/Ryleen-s-Guide-to-WoW-RP-109248858 My own character creation tips: 1. Don't divulge every detail of your character to everyone. Keep in mind one of the contributing aspects of a good RP is not knowing the other character's life in and out. Usually when you meet someone new you don't know everything about them or their past (unless of course through clever use of Google you've furiously stalked them, but let's pretend there's no Google on Azeroth). In other words, don't feel obligated to put down your entire character history. Throw in some thing that people might know about your character through word of mouth, and leave the rest to be revealed through conversation. 2. Try to be original! So we all know Dwarves drink, Goblins like blowing things up, and Orcs are rather barbaric. But why not mix things up a bit? Maybe your Dwarf can't handle alcohol like other Dwarves. You know, keep things within reason, but an RP is always more interesting when your character isn't just a run of the mill Paladin church boy born in Elwynn. 3. But with that, don't break lore. You can push the limits of WoW lore without being completely asinine. Claiming to be a high-ranking Dragon is often frowned upon and rather newbish. It's reasonable to like a prominent lore character, but do you have to be so closely related to them? Think of how many random siblings Illidan has in the RP world by now... Do your research, too! Some information might be hard to find, but look around on WoWwiki and see what you can dig up. If you can't find the info, make it up! Try to be reasonable, but if it's not written in WoW lore, then it's free game. For example, we have no idea what direction the Exodar fell from, so you could have a Draenei who didn't come from the crash site on Azuremyst, and instead came from a piece of wreckage that fell off before the landing. (If someone tries to argue your character's story, keep in mind they have no say until they can actually prove it. “I don't think that fits lore” isn't the same as “That doesn't fit lore and here's why”) 4. Give them some style and uniqueness In real life, we don't all look and sound the same, neither should your character. Some races have accents, some don't, but why not throw an accent in there anyway? Or just a specific vernacular? And appearance! Maybe your character has piercings or scars or freckles... Or maybe they carry some piece of jewelry that holds meaning to them. These things serve not only to make your character different from everyone else's, but they could also potentially help build some story. Or maybe another character will notice your character's scars and ask about them, leading to more revelations of their history. 5. Relationships build the character of your character. You can do this either by RPing with a friend or even by having several characters who are related. RPing with a partner is fun because... well think of sitting with a friend in real life and talking to a new person. You and your friend might joke around with each other and reveal bits of each others personality and past that might take a while to get to on a simple solo RP. Having characters who are related to each other, you could join an RP event on one character and talk about your “older brother”, then the next RP event, bring the older brother! (When you do this though, remember the older brother might not know his younger sibling was talking about him, so don't come in expecting everyone knows you already) 6. Don't just use generic personality types. Paladins may be righteous, Druids may be calm nature lovers, Warriors may be hot-headed... but do they have to be? There's all sorts of personalities out there, and some may be conflicting. Maybe your character wants to be more outgoing but is too shy and quiet. Or maybe your character is a huge flirt but just doesn't have the charm to pull it off (and has received many a slap because of it). I'm tired of seeing boring RPs just because people don't have a genuine personality for their characters! This sort of goes with tip #2, but this is more about how your character presents themselves. 7. Use in-game features, and not just professions. It's common to work a profession into a character's roleplay or history, but how often do you see them implement things like their mounts, non-combat pets, dual spec, or even gear? Where did your character get that shirt? Did they make themselves a Mechanical Squirrel, or did it get forced upon them by some quirky engineer they encountered? Does your Druid have self esteem issues when she goes from a slender, smooth-skinned Night Elf to a chunky, feathery boomkin? Like the physical features and “invisible” (at least in the game world) jewelry mentioned in tip #4, such things can add to your character. |

Feel free to use it or make your own, and of course, remove the stuff in parenthesis, those are only there to help you figure out what to put. Full name: (put nicknames in quotes between the first and last name) Gender/age: (Some races live a lot longer and age differently, you can estimate an approx. age based on human years or just use words like young adult, elder, etc) Race/class: (You don't -have- to be a playable race. Crossbreeds are fun, but keep it reasonable) Eyes/hair/skin or fur: (short basic description) Markings/jewelry: (tattoos, scars, birth defects, blemishes, piercings, etc) Demeanor: (Is your character shy and timid? A flirtatious social butterfly? Outgoing and leaderly?) Accent/vernacular: (Do they have a unique accent or are there letters they have trouble pronouncing? While “Jamaican” might not make sense in the WoW world, feel free to use real world place names like that just to give an idea) Short bio: (Just some things people might know about your character via word of mouth) Family: (Family members your character was close to. Classes, races, names, and whether they're still living, if applicaple) Companions: (Names and maybe a brief description of hunter pets, warlock minions, mounts, non-combat pets, and if you're really down for it, summoned creatures like shadowfiends and elementals) (personal information: This is for things people might not know. This has zero relevance to others' initial interactions with you, but is more for your sake to help you play out the character, or if a non-roleplayer wants a good read or new roleplayer wants to get an idea of how to flesh out a character. This section is very optional) Long bio: (more descriptive, with more of your characters personal feelings towards events or bits of their past they keep hidden) Likes: Dislikes: Fears: (all self-explanatory) |

Full name: Zamboozle (was Niklos Adamant)
Title: The Medic Nickname: Zamboo, Zam, Zammie, Boozle, Zammykins Link to Pic: <Pending> Gender/age: Male, dead at mid 30s Race/class: Forsaken Human Eyes/hair: Standard forsaken yellow eyes, overly pale yellow hair. Mid back length, usually tied back with a piece of bandage. Markings/jewelry: Simple wedding ring on a loose chain around neck. Left eye slightly glazed over and not as 'shiny'. Demeanor: See trope: Crouching Moron Hidden Badass. These are not distinct personalities, but moods swings. •The Healing Moron: Timid and soft spoken. Usually seen as the kind and eccentric healer. More often than not an aloof klutz that is incompetent in all things outside of healing, cooking, teaching and washing his prized frost wrym. He is in fact infatuated with it - not unlike to how modern males 'love' their prized sports car. Should the conversation topic at hand somehow reaches the Scourge or anything that has anything to do with necromancy, he lapses to... •The Necromatic Badass: Rather (very) arrogant, flamboyant, full of pride, demanding, possessive, eager to lecture on the dark arts, fiddle with bones...enjoys starting and watching trouble brew (while staying a safe distance away). Accent/vernacular: He speaks standard 'taught' orcish. Also understands and speaks very fluent common but it carries a rather archaic and formal accent with a tinge of Thalassian pitch. Recent: Currently working as a tent healer for the Argent Tournament fields every weekend. Also running the Healing Quarters in the Undercity. Part-time necromancy teacher for the Magic Quarters. Bio: He was a once-great-and-eccentric-priest-of-the-Light in the old days of Lordaeron that mended broken souls and shattered spirits. And then he was a forcefully-employed-yet-still-very-great Scourge necromancer that reaped souls and churned spirits to dust. Now he is hardly-anything-to-speak-of-at-all nameless nobody that is somewhere in between the two extremities. Family: A wife (Annaliese, warlock), a child (adopted), a flock of owls, three cats and a crawdad (Pinchy). Likes: Trias' Finest Cheese. The calming Light. The cold. Cooking. Cats. Reading. Washing his prized frost wrym. Lounging around pointlessly. Tea. Kungaloosh. Magic. Spirits. Souls. Bones. All things necromatic and fleshless (very important). Dislikes: Righteous Lectures of the Light. Milk. Heat. Milk. Dogs. Milk. Infants. Milk. Failing students. Milk. Flirtatious women. Milk. Fel magic. Milk. Fleshy ghouls. Fleshy constructs. Death Knights who are terrible at being Death Knights. Milk. Scourge who are terrible at being Scourge. Milk. Fears: Milk. Angry wife. Milk. Angry Pinchy. Milk. RP Hooks: For RPers seeking info/possible plots/connections. • Those who were once of the Lordaeron Clergy may recognize or heard of him (as Niklos Adamant) • Those who were once of the Scourge may recognize or heard of him (as Adamant the Reaver) • Got a broken limb? A nose that needs to be replaced? Bent ear? How about that cracked horn? Call 1-800-ZAMBOO. All races welcome! Yes - even you undead folks! (Prices vary. By Appointment only) • Has the tendency to sneak into Stormwind in the form of a gnome for a wheel of Trias' Finest |

Pt. I (entirety exceeded 5,000 characters)
Full name: Kartherian Alan Fletcher Gender/age: Male/At this point, as a Death Knight, his aging has frozen at a well maintained 53 years of age. Race/class: Human/Death Knight (drawing upon frost or blood as situation demands) Eyes/hair/skin or fur: Kartherian's eyes, as with the eyes of most DKs have been virtually erased by the glowing blue topaz coloration that is a signature of the Knights of Acherus. In life, his eyes were a warm shade of brown. Kartherian's hair is a steely gray and, as in life, remains well groomed, cut short and carefully shaped. His beard and mustache are equally well taken care of. His skin doesn't exactly carry the standard pallor of the undead, but it doesn't pick up any coloration from the sun. Scars adorn his arms, chest, legs, and abdomen, but they're generally not visible as they're covered up by armor. However, once in a rare while, they can be seen if he is wearing clothing that is a little more "civilian" in nature or if his gear actually exposes any of those regions. Markings/jewelry: Kartherian's body is not adorned by any tattoo, but he wears a series of rings on his fingers. Most would assume they're simply treasure won of battles with any number of his enemies, but whether that is entirely true is entirely up in the air. Demeanor: Kartherian is bold and assertive. He is possessed of a sadist's imagination and a twisted nihilist's sense of humor, which shapes his attitude at times. With the few people that he knows, his demeanor is a bit different...a little softer, bordering on almost deferential, at times carrying a tactician's sort of detached intelligence and vision. Accent/vernacular: Kartherian has no real speech quirks, but his voice doesn't carry the echoed and resonant quality that many of the Knights of Acherus do. The only real unique side of his speech is that it frequently crosses the lines of decency unapologetically. His tongue is that of a crude soldier quite often and worse on occasion. Short bio: Kartherian's history is one shrouded in shadow and he is only seen in the major cities once in a while as a result of some of his shadier dealings. Those who have known him to any extent know that he is a vision-oriented man whose main worry is about the state of the human race. He has engaged in acts of sabotage, torture, kidnapping, propaganda, and murder, as well as scattered acts of absolute good that make him seem a more chaotic man that he is. The mission that has driven him to these acts, of course, is the desire to keep humanity in a state of conflict. While he knows perfect peace for humanity is not a possibility, he knows in the absence of major friction, humans have a tendency to grow complacent, lazy, and spoiled. In order to keep the pot stirred, he carries out actions that fit best. These have led to everything from crucifixion to the salvation of those he feels worth saving. Kartherian appeared in Stormwind shortly after Acherus was won from the Lich King and he is not known to haunt one particular area. Oftentimes, he prefers to keep himself in the field, where he can find a vent for his ugly predilection toward pain and destruction. When too long away from those concepts, he finds himself increasingly malevolent and vitriolic. Due to his nature, not much is actually known about his background. Some few who are close to him know that when he was chosen to stand as a death knight, he approached it with a pleasure and perversion that was reflected by few around him outside of the very trainers that stood as exemplars of pestilence, blood, and frost...and at times, he laments the fact that he is not a member of the Scourge's legion. |
|
(Pt. II, due to post length)
Family: Kartherian has no living family members, but is seen, on occasion, at the side of a comely draenic woman by the name of Kalixys. Their rumored excesses are a matter of some debate at times that they're seen together because she has a rather colorful reputation of her own. When standing together, they are rather akin to fire and gasoline. Companions: Kartherian Fletcher generally walks alone. His last friends, known to belong to a shadowy organization known only as "Decadence," apparently vanished into obscurity years ago. Personal information: Given his rather brash personality, Kartherian tends to respond with the most respect to others who have personalities or tastes similar to his own. His interactions with others can vary to such a point that he might almost seem schizophrenic, which is fitting when one considers that his time in the legions of Acherus took twisted and mangled a spirit that was already relatively malign. He has no special love or hate for any particular cause, save that of preservation of his race and the manner by which he goes about it is frowned upon by virtually every rational person, even the most sadistic of the Horde would probably feel he was twisted enough that he should be removed from existence. Think of him as a male version of Sylvanas with a positive bent toward humanity, but less as a matter of procreation (her issue), than a blind need to make sure that humanity does not run out of major issues to fight. He regards the "Light" as a tool, more than any living thing or spirituality and that's his general view of religion. He has been known to make use of the Light when it suits him and his claims about the philosophies generally attached are often true, and therefore, difficult to discount. He has largely put his life as a living and breathing human behind him...there's a lot of depth to this character, but to unravel it will, of course require interaction. Likes: strength, assertiveness, awareness, intelligence, focus, deep discipline, deep chaos, conflict, dealing damage, receiving pain, peace, a hot forge, abusing the senses, exploring the darker side of feelings and sensations, friction, etc. Dislikes: apathy, ignorance, sloth, gluttony, lotus-eaters, etc. Fears: The decline of human civilization and oblivion. |

Edited by Frivolous on 5/2/11 6:32 AM (PDT)
Full name: Frivolousi "Frivolous" Haloke
Gender/age: Female of unknown age but obvious by her demeanor it's old enough to be embarrassing. Race/class: Goblin looks. She claims a blood heritage to the Taunka. Eyes/hair/skin or fur: Eyes oh teal and hair o green her her skins scarred up and not really keen. Markings/jewelry: Lots of claw-like scarring along the left side of her face and throat. Her left eye even seems to be off as well..possibly fake. Her hair is cut specifically to show a strange rune brand on her neck. No real magic qualities to it. Matter of fact it's kind of wretched...black and red..as if the tissue never healed from the brand. Demeanor: Friendly, sometimes overly so. She tends to seem quite insane as well since she tends to go off on ramblings depending on the current situation. Above all she's blunt, to the point, and humble. Often has beer and the like on her person and if in extended conversations is known to become drunk. Accent/vernacular: She doesn't have that typical Jersey accent of your typical goblin. But it's by no means anything of a horde variation either. It sounds almost dwarven when she uses R's but has a gruffness to it due mostly to her captors influence (see bio). Short bio: The rune on her neck is the brand of a Vykrul slave. Much of her permanent injuries are also results of said slavery. The time is unknown how long she was "privileged" with her duties by the lich kings lap dogs but it was long enough to forget most of her identity. Her typical routines varied and are far too detailed to truly express the amount of pain Frivolousi had to go through. Suffice to say her facial and bodily scars will never heal as they were inflicted upon her person by the lich king himself. She was rescued, surprisingly enough, by a Murlok hunting party that happened to swim north from Borean tundra to Icecrown. Terrified she never spoke a word to them as they were often brutish and crass with how they treated her and simply ended up a slave for them as well in the end within the borean tundra. Finally - her true saviours the Taunka on a routine hunt for whale saw the goblin slave. They taught her how to live again, how to talk, how to react to situations...it goes again into further details and stories upon stories of her time with the tribe but to keep this somewhat short she developed and honed her skill with animals during this time. Above all this is where she obtained the claw-like scars upon her throat around the slaves rune. A bitter sweet story she will only share over a pint of ale....okay...many pints of ale. Family: Haloke is her adopted family but was bonded to them in blood over a ceremony following a right of passage. Companions: She has a menagerie of pets anymore. Her favorite though is the beetle "Tank" which has saved her countless times in her career as a scout for the horde and affiliates therein. One notable incident that bonded the two was when she was working her new contracts out in Twilight highlands and she was overwhelmed by Cho'galls minions not knowing her Proximity to the bastion above her. The horde saw the strike against Frivolousi and her now dead/dying band of scouts. Flying to meet her they saw Frivolousi on the ground, huddled and crying in pain holding her knees to her chest as she tried to hold her "insides" in... heavily lacerated by the onslaught of elementals that had just ambushed her troop the only reason she lives today is Tank took his entire body and covered Frivolousi. Only a couple elementals attacked and slashed at the Beetles body. The screeches of pain could be heard across the highlands as the elements ripped at the poor bugs wings. Tank would never fly again from this day forward..but at the same time Frivolousi vowed to never leave tanks side as she owes the bug her life. (personal information: Frivolous lets things slide off her back. Her apathy is mostly due to her constant abuse throughout life. That and the almost constant pain she's in due to the wounds inflicted by the Lich King. She ignores anyone snobby but will acknowledge anyone that's staring at her (targeting her for too long) with a wave or salute. There's a couple more idioms but I feel one should experience these rather then just read them) Long bio: Deleted. I will not multi post this and I still think it's stupid to reveal ones private bio before meeting..some rp'ers will take advantage of this whether you like it or not and it's not fair nor right. Likes: Booze and the simple things in life. She also smokes blood thistle. Dislikes: Anything confining (she freaks out) ... spiders Fears: See dislikes. (will edit more later..have to move today) |

Full name: Guilhelin Norwyth Maddox, "Guile"
Gender/age: Male/30 years old Race/class: Human/Assassination or Subtlety Rogue (situation dependent) Eyes/hair/skin or fur: Evergreen Markings/jewelry: Guilhelin has a single piece of jewelry, it is an old ring with a dreadstone jewel and truesilver setting. It once had meaning. At this point, it's simply a reminder of things lost. It is no longer seen upon his hand, but the few that know him know he'd not be without it. Demeanor: Guilhelin's demeanor is one of extremes. Of late, darkness had virtually overwhelmed him, leaving him almost mindless...more a force of nature than anything human. However, his soul mended some measure, he has found a bit of stability. He is businesslike, charming, and genteel unless given a reason to be otherwise, in which case, he becomes the stuff of nightmares. Accent/vernacular: Having been raised in Duskwood, Guilhelin's vocal qualities are not going to stand out when he is where he spends most of his time, Stormwind City. Short bio: What few remain of those that ever knew him are aware of some small truths. One, the man seeks something or somebody to serve and gives in to deep bouts of psychopathy, one of which he only recently emerged from. At the furthest extent of his known history, Guilhelin stood in the service of the Van Cleef family, at one point going so far as to stand with the dark honor guard that protected the dreadnought. Few specifics are known about it, save that he claims he was there and he apparently slipped away during the ensuing destruction of all forces within the Deadmines. Later on, the man emerged from a period where he was simply known for doing odd jobs for a pittance, developing something of a reputation as a cutpurse and scoundrel when he was not being paid to engage in jobs that were virtuous. Already, by that point, his cost had grown a bit high. During an odd job in Duskwood, in a region not too far away from his home, he stumbled upon a death knight by the name of Aesana. After a standoff, he found himself somewhat taken with her and they grew close, but the relationship was as swiftly terminated as it was explosively passionate. She abandoned him, returning to her studies. He slipped into a hate-shot existence which saw him make his way into Northrend. Eventually, he came into the service of a woman by the name of Amalliana, who soothed the shadows within, and led him through a period of reasonable peace, but his time with the few organizations that she stood with came to an end as soon as she vanished. Since then, Guilhelin has been an unstable "rolling stone," indeed gathering no moss, but traveling a bloody and ugly road that has brought him to a stop in purchased service to the political wing of the Argent Dawn, a position that he seems to have taken as a result of the strange sense of connection he has to all things abandoned and the Argent Dawn, since the fall of the Lich King, has been just that. Family: His sole remaining family member is a magistrix, she generally stands watch in Stormwind Keep, looking over the portals at the small island just outside of the old city proper. Her name is Kaidha Moore, her last name being their original family name, one that he dissolved all connection with out of shame. Personal information: Guilhelin Maddox is a relatively sociable character and easy to approach. He takes care to ensure that he both appears and acts deeply presentable in public, though the vitriolic side of his nature can certainly be brought out by the right sort of person or, given the right situation, place or thing. He has dissolved all ties to the Defias, though he has deeply positive feelings for the powerful new Lady of the organization, Vanessa Van Cleef. At this point, while he stands in service of the Embassy, he is there rather as a free agent and perhaps, as a result of his own disillusionment at just how easily people seem able to abandon one another and causes they were devoted to. He has no special love of the Light, as a matter of fact, his position with the guild is purely pragmatic...sometimes the beauty we desire must be wrought of the ugliest of actions and many of his actions in the past have been extremely ugly. Likes: puzzles, challenges, devotion, money, combat, working leather, virtually any stimulation (mental, spiritual, or physical), his work, finer things Dislikes: cowardice, stupidity, prudes, idleness, abandonment, political corruption (genuinely hates most of the Stormwind gentry) Fears: Failure, emptiness, isolation |

Full name: Alessendra Renee Mitchell
Gender/age: Female/25 Race/class: Human/Warrior (Primarily focuses on defensive combat) Eyes/hair/skin or fur: Cobalt blue/cinnamon/lightly tanned Markings/jewelry: While possessed of no tattoos or distinguishing marks, she wears a few simple studs: one on her right nostril and one in either ear. They're simple, copper pieces as she is relatively frugal due to the fact that her adventuring doesn't generate a lot of wealth. Demeanor: Alessendra is warm, jocular, open, and down-home. Accent/vernacular: Alessendra has a distinctly homespun accent that generally resembles a mixture of Scottish and American mountain-folk. Short bio: Alessendra's past is not exactly a matter of mystery. She was born about 25 years ago in the region of the Eastvale logging camp and she was raised there by a kindly mother and father. They never had much in the way of money and neither of them were terribly well educated. It shows through in her rustic speech, but her father's strong common sense and mother's decency are also a serious part of her. Her dad was known as a doughty and stout fighter when driven to the point that he had to engage in any sort of combat, but that was generally just when he had to shut down some street tough from Goldshire or the Old Town district that made their way up to one of the taverns in the area. He let his fists do the talking if his mouth wouldn't do it and since he wasn't good with words... At any rate, most people know that her father, Douglass Mitchell taught her the ropes when it came to how to stand up for herself bare-fisted and she got her basic arms training from some of the members of the Redridge and Stormwind Guard, who she took a liking to early. She's been seen without a sword and shield nearby pretty irregularly and she doesn't dress up in any refined manner too often. She's simply more at home in steel and leather than in silk and lace. Members of the Old Town tavern community have stated she's a knock-out when forced to dress up, but the men, with some bitterness, have remarked upon the fact that she seems to have more of a taste for women...and probably better odds at landing one, than they do. Continuing with that line of logic, she does have a partner by the name of Elizabeth Kaidha Moore. When she's not kicking up her heels at one of Stormwind's taverns or pulling guard or office duty at the Argent Dawn HQ, she's either in the field doing damage to a series of fools who are up to no good or throwing herself into one of the heavier combat situations that Stormwind has seen fit to send detachments out to deal with, often with friends like Daffyd and Korwick, who do a fine job of dealing a hell of a beating or mending whatever is thrown at her. Family: Douglass Mitchell and his wife, Myra, live in a small home in the region of Eastvale Logging Camp, nestled back in the woods and have essentially removed themselves from public life. Companions: While she doesn't have any pets, persay, she is often seen at the side of her friends. Any of the members of The Embassy are generally not too far away from her and her rather...confused...lover, Kaidha, is frequently not too far away, sometimes drawn from her reclusive studies in Stormwind Keep's library. Personal information: Alessendra's accent can, at times, make her a bit difficult to understand and she's aware of it, so if another character just asked her what she meant, she'd generally be fine with repeating herself. She's deeply sociable, so just as likely to approach people as to be approached. She's not terribly combative, but if stirred to the right level of anger, she would certainly throw down with all of her strength. She's got a taste for money, even though she doesn't have much...if she ever came into it, she'd probably spend it stupidly. She is definitely a drinker, not a drunkard, but she loves dwarven ales...could never match the race for tolerance with liquor, but she's spirited enough that she'd probably drink herself stupid in a challenge if it ever came up. Whatever the case, she's actually a fairly 'normal' character with nothing about her that stands out terribly, excepting her accent. Likes: gold, good single hand weapons, shields, a person that needs a clobbering, helping others (within limits), her friends and lover, good armor, time spent with a mineral vein or at the forge, the chance to sleep in Dislikes: seeing those she cares for hurt, disrespect, elitism, lofty causes that could never function in the world as is Fears: seeing any of her friends hurt or killed with or without good reason, her shortcomings with a blade or shield, having nothing to stand for, she's not a fan of bugs, either. |

Full name: Briaeros Y'Tyranith
Gender/age: Still fairly young by Draenic standards at some 400 years. Race/class: Draenei/Shaman (Enhancement) Eyes/hair/skin or fur: Crystalline/Hair color difficult to describe, but a sort of cloudy grey-blue seems a close approximation, his skin is a light blue shade, almost identical to the coloration of his eyes. Markings/jewelry: A single tattoo is permanently etched into the upper right quadrant of Briaeros' back, in a black that is a stark contrast to his flesh, the symbol of the Hand of Argus is emblazoned, a symbol of his service to his people. As a jewelcrafter, Briaeros is not without a variety of jewelry, cut and natural gems, or trinkets at any moment. If he is wearing them, they're more a mark of his skill as a tradesman than representative of any relationship or desire to prove that he is of means (because he certainly isn't). Demeanor: Briaeros is friendly, but somewhat serious and stoical compared to many of those that surround him in everyday life. He's frequently confused by the actions of other races and may seem unrushed at times that others are in a hurry as a result of his longevity. He is relaxed, responsible, businesslike, warm, intelligent, and deeply devoted to both causes and allies. Accent/vernacular: Briaeros has no accent, but there is a peculiar quality to his voice...something distant and deep, possessed of a mildly resonant quality. Sometimes it seems that when he speaks, he's more simply manipulating the air in front of him than producing sounds from within. Short bio: Briaeros arrived with the rest of the Draenic race when the Exodar crashed into Azeroth. His family has a long and distinguished history of service in matters of combat within his race, finding it to be their natural disposition to attune to the Light or the elements in a manner which emphasizes the hybridization of both melee and magic fighting styles. Briaeros showed promise among an already sterling line of paladins and shaman-kind. After his race recovered its strength a while after the crash, Briaeros was off to explore a world in the middle of a vicious fight with the Burning Legion. During that fight, it was rumored that he found a new master that schooled him in the standard arts of combat as favored by warrior-kind, a blind master by the name of Maevalyn (now deceased). In gaining this new knowledge and absorbing the new hardship, he slipped into seclusion for several years. Only recently has he resurfaced, virtuous and powerful, but conflicted about his nature and a bit resentful of the expectations he has been saddled with by his family and race. His arrival at the Argent Dawn headquarters was a natural matter...service to the Light as a warrior wielding the powers of the elements during the time of the Cataclysm seemed natural to his family, friends, and to himself. Despite the fact that he often wonders if he's really guided by the Light and the simple truth that he's getting tired of letting others lay out a path for him, he continues to feel yoked by them. Family: Any and all Draenei in House Y'Tyranith, one of the many noble families in the Draenic race. Companions: Briaeros generally travels alone, save for any companions from the Dawn or The Embassy. At times, he has been seen with a large blue moth of some sort that seems to trail a glittering stream of what would seem like stardust if one didn't know better. Its name is unknown, but it's simply believed to be a pet. Personal information: Briaeros is an extremely stable character and calm to the point of almost seeming detached from what goes on about him. His sense of humor, if he has one, is peculiar and it is hard to tell if he's genuinely amused. He's nearly impossible to stir to violence unless he specifically enters a situation with combat in mind...only if he feels threatened seriously or an ally is in danger will he likely lash out. He's not given to verbal assaults...his nature is that of a long, powerful, peaceful river. Likes: Natural beauty, working stone, the comfort of a soft bed, the righting of wrong, good-hearted people, innocence. He's drawn to certain qualities in others, but the exposure of exactly what those qualities are would simply be unveiled by his reactions to their interaction with him. Dislikes: Deliberately evil acts, those who put their hearts into wrong-doing, rash decisions, ignorance Fears: Briaeros' nature has essentially weeded out fear. There are experiences he would not enjoy, but he does not fear them. Good and evil, just as pleasure nad pain, are necessary parts of living. In the absence of one another, they lose their identities. |

Full Name, Title: Eithne Crow
In-Game: Eithné Nickname(s): none Race: Gilnean Human (I don't consider Worgen to be a whole new race, but yes she is a worgen) Class: Druid Occupation: Florist before the wall went up, now a nomadic amateur botanist and alchemist Professions: alchemy/herbalism Professional Affiliations: none Age: 40ish, looks it Gender: Female Hair: Black, going grey especially around the temples Eyes: dark blue Weight/Build: thin, underfed, though she looks better than she did when she first left Gilneas. Clearly looks like she's been living hard for a long time (weathered). Height: 5'8 as a human, average height for a worgen when in that form Skin: an outdoor working tan Place of Birth: Gilneas Place of Residence: Uldum or Tanaris, but she sleeps just about anywhere now (it being easier to sleep in a tree as a bird than as a human) Family: if she has any living relatives, she isn't saying. Allies: the Cenarion Circle (only in a very minor way), Darnassus Antagonists: patriotic Gilneans Alignment: Keeps to herself and survives. I don't know all the different alignment things and what they mean. Motivation: Try to move forward and try to make up for the past 20 years of her life being stuck inside Gilneas (I believe the wall was up for that long). Try to learn every herb and plant she can, and document them and their various properties. Disposition: Doesn't complain, just gets on with whatever has to be done with a grim determination. Thrilled to have wings (flight form). Outlook: "I'm free at last... why the **@* would I go back?" Religion/Philosophy: the land has given me far more than the Light ever did... Strengths: Knows plants well enough to know what she can survive on. Weaknesses: Being too stubborn to know when to quit. Claustrophobia in high walled and/or small places. Appearance/Armor: I'm just going to put her rp flag here... Eithne is a woman of about 45, with sharp features, shoulder length greying black hair and a physique that suggests years of hard living. She wears simple and durable clothing and is often seen around Stormwind scribbling notes about plants in a worn notebook, collecting flowers, or smoking. Eithne's worgen form is average height and weight with black fur that appears reddish brown in strong sunlight, messily plaited hair thrown over her shoulder, and the same dark blue eyes as her human self. Biography: Born in Gilneas, Eithne ran a small but successful Florist shop that mostly relied on business from outside the city. After the wall went up, she struggled for two years to keep it running, but with no stock other than roses to sell and a diminished customer base, she went broke. Complaining about the wall ruining her (and several others') businesses led her to be labelled a follower of Crowley and jailed for a short time (the officials didn't want there to be an uprising, so they silenced anyone who wasn't happy with the decision to put up the wall). When she was finally released, she discovered that her family had disowned her and she was homeless. For the next 16 years, she lived from day to day surviving whatever way she could; she lived off the land and tried to survive alone. She envied the birds that flew back and forth between Gilneas and the outside world, and once tried climbing one of the trees near the wall to escape but was spotted and thrown into jail again. When the rampaging worgens invaded the city, she was leaped on and torn into while desperately trying to find an unlocked house to hide in, and the next thing she knew, she was waking up in a cage. Upon realising what had happened to her, her reaction was far more pragmatic than horrified; she assumed the wall was still firmly in place but that she would be able to survive far better in that body than her weak human one. When the Night Elves taught her how to master shifting between forms, and then took in her people after escaping Gilneas, she decided to stay in Darnassus for as long as she could and learn all she could about druidism. She had never seen such a beautiful city before, or so many new varieties of plant. She struggles with feeling panicked and trapped whenever she has to go to Stormwind (or any other place that's enclosed or got high walls... she won't go anywhere near Ironforge) and so spends most of her time in places like Uldum, where the huge flat areas of land and the radiant heat from the sun are exactly what she dreamed of having when she was stuck in cold, grey Gilneas, or places with heavy vegetation like Un'goro Crater, Feralas, Hyjal and Teldrassil. She is also on a mission to learn about all the herbs and plants she can, and document the uses and properties of each one. |

Lovely profile, Celestiele. Hope to catch ya for RP sometime. I had an absolutely psychotic hunter on WRA for a while...absolutely abominable creature by the name of Trinarius...but I got rid of him, despite the fact that he was a joy to play. He had similar issues when stuck in areas with high walls, or just cities, in general.
