Why? Because there are very few players left who actually experienced their real difficulty at level 60. In the world top 20 guild I led at level 60, out of the 50-55 active raiders, only like 5 still play WoW today. If that's anywhere near accurate for everyone else in the world, that means only about 10% of the people who raided at level 60 are still playing the game today.
Yes Thaddius was tough -- C'Thun too, and so were several dozen other level 60 encounters, but when you come to the blizzard forum wanting to talk about how awesome things were at level 60, 90ish% of the people you're going to converse with weren't around back then, so the only response you're going to get is the ignorant "lol every1 knows lvl 60 sux."
Personally, I would be the first in line if they created a new battlegroup of classic servers. I would even pay $1,000 if that's what it cost to create a character there. Level 60 was that damn good.
