Got my AddOns back but my settings are as low as they can go and still my framerate i horrible, and I have a MBP i7 Proc, 4GB RAM GeForce 330m VidCard w/ 512mb and IDK what to do. I can't play like this, and am angryyy!!!

Someone pwease help me?

Having the same problem, mac pro, 5770, normally have no problem being over 100 fps at 1920x1200 with the occasional dip at times. Now I'm seeing my fps jump wildly, right now I'm frozen in the enemy flag room in WSG with my FPS reading as 1 but I can't do anything.

Edit: Cancel that, seems to have been an addon, I just disabled them all and relogged, running fine.

unplayable here, not because the fps is low. but because the fps gets low then the game freezes.

edit: was however, addon related...

well what the hell; my frame rate and playability was fine before this now its totally unplayable. I was looking forward to this patch to get me playing more often again and now I'm bout to say screw it, because I doubt there will be any kind of fix.

I log into Stormwind, and instantly my game freezes, every 2-3 minutes 1 or 2 messages from trade chat show up in the chat window, game is unplayable. Glad to see I've been paying to play this game for six years and these issues are recurring every patch.

With addons my game works like crap, slow and sluggish and freezes in Zul'Aman. I turn off my addons and the game works fine...

That'd be fine except I have to have at the least Bartender to play. Tidy Plates is pretty damn important too.

guys... turn off addons. report problems if they persist thereafter.

for me:

with addons - terrible (addon problems)
without - good performance

If I might suggest an alternative.

Rather than turning off all of your addons with the assumption that addons in general are an issue why don't you start enabling them one by one until you find the culprit. It's very doubtful that the entire addon LUA now suddenly causes massive framerate issues. More likely is that one of the various changes has resulted in certain addons performing erroneously.

Another helpful tip is to check 'Display LUA Errors'. This will give you a better idea of what addons may be malfunctioning so you can better prepare by disabling or replacing them; thus minimizing your Patch Day Shock.

Yeah I so far am able to use Bartender and a couple others. Idk I just think I will go without playing until they are all updated; Blizz's UI is HORRIBLE, especially for PVP. Not knowing at all what or when things are going on makes it nigh impossible to play. Their cooldown feed for instance? How the hell am I suppose to know exactly how much time I have before X ability is up when I glance down for a split second and can hardly see some vague shading going on on an ability; I can hardly see it, let alone decipher how long that much be down to the fraction of a second and still do what I'm doing to PVP at my best lol.

Anyway, I'm just being a fart, I'll go watch House now considering at this point I can't even get to my toons to play.

Try setting Multisampling to 1x and see if that helps.

I went from running at a pre-4.1 60FPS, all the time with vsync, to 7.5 FPS all the time with vsync with 4.1. My machine is a 6-core 3GHz MacPro with a Radeon 5870.

Lucytr's process did nothing for me, but going from 4x to 1x AA did fix the issue. Going from 4x to 2x resulted in a very minor FPS increase. Note that there seems to an annoying bug now, too, when you change the AA setting. Every AA setting change now seems to cause a huge decrease in gamma, so the more you switch AA levels, the darker your screen gets. That happens playing in fullscreen. Haven't tried it in windowed mode.

Also, disabling mods or moving the Interface folder out of the WoW folder made no difference in terms of the FPS problem.

setting my Multisample to 1x from 4x fixed my FPS drop. Before 4.1 I was easily getting 75FPS on my Mac Pro i7 with an ATI 5850. In 4.1 (even with addons disabled), I was stuck peaking at 20 FPS and the rest of my Mac OS (other apps) felt like they were stuck at 20FPS too when moving windows around.

This doesn't seem to be an issue with any add-on, as I am still having horrible FPS issues even after all of been disabled. Entering combat drops my FPS to below 1.

It's definitely an issue with the game engine, it's not about any addons.. I've turned off all my addons, reset all the cache files as suggested.

Like some of the other people here, as soon as you turn on multi-sampling to any degree, the game slows down to a completely unplayable frame rate. I used to get 60 fps consistently w/ v-sync on. Now I'm getting less than 5 fps just standing around doing nothing.

My hardware config is:
Mac Pro 5,1
2.8GHz (4x cores, single CPU)
6GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB RAM

Running at 1920x1200 normally w/ 4x multi-sampling.

Another interesting observation, regardless of the hardware settings, the game runs fine before entering the world. On the login screen and character select screen, frame rate seems normal.

You can also see the frame rate difference when you hit CMD+M to switch between full screen and window mode. Once you enter the game world, the gradual "darkening" of the screen when you switch modes is super slow.

Again, turning off multi-sampling completely fixes this.

I just ran through the same test with a friend. Who also has a ATI HD 5870.

Same thing, once you get multi-sampling higher than 1x the frame rate drops like a rock. Also, I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.7, and my friend is running 10.6.6.

For people who don't see this issue, it might be liquid detail setting overriding the multi-sampling setting. Once again, if you have liquid detail on anything higher than the lowest level, it sets your multi-sampling to 1x. Even if you change it to lowest level, and then change your multi-sampling setting, it might take multiple tries before it actually kicks in the new multi-sampling setting.

My friend had to change multi-sampling multiple times before it kicked in and the same problem is verified.

After I applied these changes and let the non-critical updates do their thing, upon loading the game frame rates were still horrible. This is without any addons in the folder, all original blizzard files. Any other ideas or is this Wrath of the Litch King all over again?. . .
