[A] ToV 10-man Raid Team Recruiting

<Tears of Vengeance> - a level 25 alliance guild which prides itself on its warm communal atmosphere - has three 10-man raid teams: B.L.U.E., Team Phoenix, and Milk & Cookies. Each team has its own goals, expectations, and schedules. Please read below to see if any of the teams are a good fit for you. As a guild, ToV's main goal is to build a community that fosters strong relationships and enhances our members' lives. We think of ourselves as more than just a guild, but as a bit of a family; most of our members have been with us for years, and many of those who leave our community eventually miss it and come back home. (We also boast one of the most active web communities of any guild - members have made well over 125,000 (and counting) posts on the ToV website!) Although we have a strong history of raiding success that we are proud of (more on this below), we are not a raiding guild. More than any boss kill, we take pride in times we've been there for members who've had real life crises. If you are interested in joining one of the raid teams but not ToV as a guild, please be aware that this may be an option. Our teams have the following recruiting needs as of 10/25/11:

  • B.L.U.E. - not currently recruiting

  • Team Phoenix - Druid, paladin or shaman with resto/holy as one of their available specs

  • Milk & Cookies - Balance/feral druid; warlock or hunter.

To apply please visit our website at http://www.tovguild.com

ABOUT OUR RAID TEAMS:

B.L.U.E. - we are a progression-based raid team who is 6/7 HM as of 10-7-11 composed of 13 full time members that raids 3x week (Wed, Thur, Sun) from 7:45pm-11:30pm. Our philosophy is that sitting a couple people on a night when everyone is available is better for the team then canceling raids when someone has something come up. We have team members who are married, have kids, jobs, etc. Since Cata began we have canceled zero raids (unless you count not raiding during the Super Bowl heh). We have a lot of raid experience and to varying degrees a lot of experience raiding with each other. The majority of our team's raid history together dates back to Vanilla WoW with a few then in WotLK where Esden also led the bulk of this team to the ICC 10man Meta Achievement. Please see http://www.tovguild.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13397 for more information, including expectations and loot policy.
Contacts: Esden, Danovias.

Team Phoenix - A relatively new team led by Eldaryx (aka Litheya), ToV's 40-man and 25-man raid leader through Vanilla and TBC. Team Phoenix is all about 'balance' (not the druid spec) - balancing members' real life commitments with the needs of the raid team, balancing the goal of having fun with the goal of working to kill bosses. Despite our late start in the expansion cycle (we began in early April), we are using 2.5 focused raids a week to catch up to other 2-3x/week raiding teams. Our progression goal includes not only conquering each tier of normal progression before the next tier comes out, but also significant work on heroic modes. Don't miss the opportunity to join an up-and-coming 10-man team!
  • We raid from 8pm-11:30pm on Thursdays and Mondays, and 9pm-11:30pm on Sundays; we are currently 2/7 HM in Firelands.

  • See http://www.tovguild.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13367 for our Mission Statement.

Contacts: Eldaryx, Hathor.

Milk and Cookies - a raiding group with the goal to have fun raiding while being progression focused. We are a relaxed, family/friend oriented but serious group. Our group consists of experienced raiders, most of whom have been playing since Vanilla. We do not expect to be on the bleeding edge. We raid three nights a week (Wed, Thurs, and Sun) from 8pm to 11pm server time. We do expect to complete all raiding content. We do expect our members to be online on their mains at invite times. We use calendar invites and those are usually posted 1 month ahead of time. We also expect all members (including subs) to post when they're not going to be available if possible. We use a wishlist/LC for loot. New members need to be expierenced raiders with a firm grasp of what progression raiding means in terms of attempts, repairs, resources. All members are expected to know their class/spec and come prepared. If you have any questions or just want to say hi (we're a friendly bunch) please do.

What you can expect from our guild:
  • We are a democratic guild. If you join, you will have the opportunity to help shape our future. The Guild Master and the major officer positions are decided by election, and any major decisions are brought to a guild vote.

  • We say "if one member has a problem, the guild has a problem." We won't always be able to please everyone, but we do our best to make sure everyone's concerns are heard and responded to.

  • We will treat you with respect and see you as a person - not just a class, a spec, and a pile of gear.

  • If you join us, you join our community. If at some point you can no longer raid, we will NOT remove you.

  • We try to keep together friends and family. We cannot promise that your friends and family will be able to raid regularly with us, but we can promise they will get a chance to join our guild.

  • We will always respect the fact that your real life takes priority over anything WoW-related. A good number of our members are couples and/or parents; we know what peoples' priorities should be.

What we expect from our members:
  • That you be respectful to other players - not just fellow guildmembers, not just members of the alliance faction.

  • That you realize loot isn't why we play this game. Even the best items in WoW will be obsolete next expansion, but hopefully the friendships you form and the memories you take will be with you for years.

  • That you make an effort to get to know and go on runs with your fellow guildmates (not just those that raid). We don't want people who only log on during raid times.

  • That if/when you do come to a raid, you focus and do your best to be prepared. This may sound like a progression-oriented expectation, but it isn't; it is disrespectful to your fellow guildmates to come to a raid and go afk or not pay attention.

  • That if you have criticisms/suggestions, you voice them in a constructive fashion.

  • That you acknowledge you don't know everything and are willing to take advice if it's offered to you in a constructive fashion. We would rather take an okay player that's willing to learn and has a great attitude than a good player who thinks he's God's gift to WoW.

If you have any questions about joining <Tears of Vengeance> or one of its raid teams, please contact any of the above-mentioned contacts or Exander, our officer in charge of recruitment.

Please disregard the prior recruitment thread, as this one - which includes the needs of all three teams - will be our 'home base' for recruiting, for as long as we need to recruit!

But Maraba, your death is directly related to the success of the raid.

His death is a direct route to our success. I bet having another priest in the raid would help too though.

UPDATES:

Team Phoenix has gotten off to a fantastic start - we've only raided for 9 full nights (and two half nights) and are sitting at 8/12, with a full raid night this week to work on Council and Cho'gall. We've had some solid recruiting leads and may be close to meeting our needs, but we're still definitely willing to look at a warlock (even one with limited availability).

Milk & Cookies is also still looking, and they're such a fun group of people. If you meet their needs, apply!

Well, we're not three guilds... we're one guild, one strong community that's been together for more than 6 years now. We happen to have three separate 10-man raid teams running, but there are people in the guild who raid with other guilds, and there are people who aren't on any raid team at all.

Our slogan has always been that "we're not a raiding guild; we're a guild that raids." That's still true today - raiding just doesn't define us! =D

UPDATE:

Team Phoenix (now at 9/12) is only looking for a warlock (or maybe a shadow priest) at this point (definitely willing to look at locks with limited availability)

Milk & Cookies (also at 9/12) has new and updated recruiting needs as well:

Druid : Boomkin w/ Resto OS
Something DPS w/ Tank OS
2-3 Ranged DPS

M&C is a super fun group. If you're one of the above, don't hesitate... apply!

Don't make me take all of the healing gear. I much prefer taking all the tanking gear from Elsivine.
