Topic Dungeon Journal Vs. Atlas Loot @Devs
Heyas -- Coming from using atlasloot(Addon) almost since its first inceptions as loot-link back in vanilla wow, I find it to be an amazing source for finding things from just about anywhere.
In comparing this to the new Dungeon Journal (DJ), I was wondering if you'd be including reputation faction vendors in DJ as sources of gear and list what you can purchase from them, for what price?
--What about PVP gear vendors? Justice point and VP vendor lists? Maybe you could even make JP/VP gear purchasable directly from this interface to avoid the 9+pages of gear on the vendor and having to sort through all the different armor classes and such..
-- As well as this, perhaps an exact LOCATION of said rep or JP/VP vendor would also be appreciated.. I remember looking ALL over for the dragonmaw rep vendor my first time.
--Atlasloot also does list every crafting recipe available so anyone can find out what mats they need for a given crafted item.
Any thoughts on adding a wishlist type function to the DJ to have it remember what you have left to get in raid dungeon X, etc...
I highly doubt they are gonna do all that. I think that DJ will be great for those casual people that just want to see how the Tier gear that they will never have looks on them. The majority of us that are serious about raiding and crafting and such will still use Atlasloot as out primary source of information. There is just way too much information to ignore it.
You can do that simply by checking the profession books of your guild mates, or by asking anyone in trade to link the pattern.
You mean, the guy with "Quartermaster" written above his head? Name plates, activate them.
Why don't they just add a small window where you type the particular piece of gear you want and it's instantly mailed to you so you don't have to move?
@Muri.. You come off extremely poorly here --
What if my guild mates dont have said recipe? and its late at night and trade is dead? (or we have trade turned off cause its useless :)
The quartermaster title is their *guild* shown in <XXXX> and is not shown by nameplates. Their name is. Turning nameplates on would actually hide their quartermaster status. Maybe you have a special mod for this?
-- Regarding your last comment, I see nothing wrong with that idea. -- A search function for Mail Agility loot buyable with Justice points.. get a list, rightclick to purchase.. That actually does sound quite nice ty.
Blizzard has stated that they dislike the page format as it currently stands (where the vendor can have 9 pages of gear of which you only really want the spirit plate, but see everything else, etc..) My comment was mearly an idea and a way to save npc space while complementing a nice UI addition that blizzard is making.
@Ganrokh --Just because its *called* the dungeon journal, doesn't mean it can't have additional functionality. Don't limit yourself.
