I've never met anybody who likes the School of Hard Knocks achievement. Those who spend all their time in PvE find themselves fighting not only the opposing faction but their own faction as they attempt to accomplish goals that in most cases run against generally accepted BG strategy. Devoted battleground players detest how Children's Week ruins the BGs by pulling in loads of inexperienced PvPers with their orphans. I don't know why Blizzard wanted this achievement as an essential part of the What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been meta-achievement, nor why they have left it in even as the value of the meta has been increased by having it include Master Riding in addition to the long-standing Violet Proto-Drake mount. If the desire was to get more players into the BGs, Children's Week is counterproductive to this purpose.
Let's take matters into our own hands and make things easier for everyone. I'd like to organize some BG premades explicitly for completing the School of Hard Knocks achievement. The intent is to enable as many characters as possible to complete the goals of the achievement with a minimum of hassle and without interfering with those who prefer to play the BGs instead of pursuing a world event achievement. I'm willing to coordinate this for level 85 Alliance players and I'd like someone to volunteer to do the same for the Horde. Please post your interest here, contact my Alliance character in game, or the level 1 Orc I've rolled up for this coming week, Hardnokskool.
