Of course there is.

If this is your first time through the series you are quite lucky. This is a great time to get into it. Most of us have been reading these books for at least a dozen years. You probably wont be surprised to hear that waiting 4+ years between books can really sour some readers. Being able to read it all without waiting certainly leaves one with a better impression of the series as a whole. It really is much faster paced than many people remember it being. I will say that books 9 and 10 are on the slower side, but its not that bad.

Easily my favorite fantasy series.

I JUST started the Eye of the World and i'm like halfway through.

Perhaps it won’t be as much of an issue reading them without the long breaks in-between, but I sometimes wished that I had kept a spreadsheet so I could keep all the characters straight, you could already populate a fair sized town with them by the time Path of Daggers came out.

Ha, it is a lot easier without the 4 year breaks. When Knife of Dreams came out I had to keep, 2-3 of the older books with me so I could refrence the glossaries.

This series is so friggin' long (and awsome) that when I chain read the whole series as far as ToM, I picked up and started rereading the first book immediately after, and it was like a whole new experience.

I really enjoyed perhaps the first half of the series, but somewhere around or after Lord of Chaos, the story and characters seemed to get away from Jordan. There was an ever-expanding array of characters that, while interesting, kept the plot moving to a trickle.

I've heard very good things about Sanderson's job with WoT, though, so perhaps I'll reread through it all again and finish off the series.

It was the waiting that did it. Admitedly books 9-10 are slow because it was the point in the series where there were the most active plot lines. Cramming them all into a novel meant for less time with each and less forward progression. He got it all back in order in book 10 though. I cant stress enough how different and fast the flow and pace of the series is now that you can read it all without waiting.

A side note about coincidence.

This link is to picture of the oldest building in the town of Irondequoit New York, originally built about 170 years ago as a blacksmith shop by a blacksmith named Perrin.

(still on Book 1 -_-) he seems like a total stick in the mud. He is greedy, dumb, and pessimistic. So far.

Have to admit, he gets worse before he gets better.
But in the long run the character develops surprisingly.

I loved WoT for a long while.

But towards the end (Maybe Crown of Swords+?) I just lost interest, things seemed to get weird.
