Purchasing a new comp. How well will wow run?
|
Low: About 30 FPS in places where there aren't a lot of objects/people/NPCs/actions taking place.
Intel HD graphics 3000 is roughly equal to lowest level of AMD/nVidia graphics card offering, so do not expect to run this thing at High / Ultra settings and still get acceptable performance. |

He's talking about your old computer, unless if that's also an laptop.

I'd rather suggest an ASUS or MSI laptops; for far less than what you need to play games decently on a MacBook, you will be able to play games at high settings comfortably on those.

yeah. I know macs aren't ideal for gaming, but I'm looking to buy a computer that will last me a few good years, has good virus protection, and with a company where repairs aren't a huge hassle. Unless there has been some big changes in the laptop world, that would mean getting a mac, right?

No.
Windows laptops can last just as long (mine is now 5 years old and still going strong) There are plenty of powerful, good free anti-virus solution for Windows. Laptop broken? Just send it to the company that made it. |

as far as i know you can't replace macbooks parts, you'll have to purchase another mac machine. but i wouldn't, but if your a mac fan, i'd suggest.
erhm actually most of them are crap. the gpu will bottleneck your spec. unless you like spending 2 grand http://store.apple.com/ca/configure/MC723LL/A?mco=MjEyOTY4OTQ |

yeah. apple has a lot of fun with putting low quality cards on their computers.
I think I'll take another look at what newegg has for pc laptops. ( I'd be open to any recommendations on good deals for around $1000 on newegg (; ) I come from a home of strict mac users, so I've only owned apple computers in the past |

I neglected to say that this is a graduation gift for college, so the more mobile, the better It looks to me that http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230027 is one of the best you can get. It's bulkier that I had hoped, but the specs really win me over. Thanks again, guys! |
