Ockhams Razor is a level twenty-five guild that runs one 10 man raid team.
Raid Times: Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. CST.
We expect all raiders to be gemmed/reforged/enchanted to min/max their roles, be it tanking, healing or dpsing. We also expect everyone to be able to watch their own dbm/bigwig timers and act accordingly.
We use /roll for loot, prioritizing main spec > off spec. We help meet 2sets and 4sets when gearing with tokens. People with one piece of tier gear or three pieces of tier gear get priority over those with no tier gear, 2 pieces or 4 pieces of tier.
We raid with 11-12 raiders in our ten man team. While I will guarantee every raider that shows up consistently, raid time every week, please know that we use a rotation system so you may not be raiding all three days for all three hours each night. How we choose who sits and who stays is: when we are progressing, it comes down to the ten people who will give the guild the highest chance of getting the kill (fast is good). Naturally if the fight prefers rdps then all the ranged come in and melee sit and vice versa, if it's a dps race the best dps get pulled in etc. Once we kill a boss 3+ times we consider it on farm, at which point people with best-in-slot (bis) drops from that boss get the highest priority (granted we can still down the boss with ease). There is absolutely no favoritism or partiality when it comes to these decisions. We want everyone to get their bis loot asap, so bosses die faster, which means more loot, which means more boss kills...you get the point.
How the recruitment process with OR works: Let us know you are interested by whispering someone in guild (preferably Pwnda/Kamkazidonut but anyone will do if he isn't on). When someone lets us know they are interested, the first thing we do is make sure the raid times work for them. Then we take them on a trial run. During the trial run the recruits are allowed to roll on anything that drops (since they helped us get that boss kill after all). The recruits also get a chance to see how the raiding atmosphere is here. If we see that the player can dps/heal/tank the current content, exhibits raid awareness and is able to grasp raid mechanics, an invite to the guild is sent out and the recruit becomes a guildee...forever. This is followed by a chat with Pwnda on mumble about gems/enchants/reforging, guild resources available to raiders etc. If the dps/healing/tanking skill is there but the gear isn't, and there are no other conflicts, then in some cases we still take the recruit and they are made a core raider. But we only take them on farm fights to help gear them and they sit out progression until their gear/numbers are on par. If the recruit is able to top the dmg charts/healing charts while adhering to raid mechanics in their low gear, an exception is made and they are brought for progression modes as well. This has happened in the past where people have been able to outperform their gear/ilvl and they have been a wonderful asset to our roster. Having said that, what we don't want- people trying to to pawn off their undergeared toons on us, and have us do all the work gearing it, or using us as a stepping stone to another guild that requires higher gear. What we do want- is to give people that had a late start in the expansion, or had to quit wow for a while, a chance to raid current content without having to grind dailies/lfr to catch up in gear.
All of the above being said, we are an adult (18+), friendly, laid back guild. Our guild atmosphere is such that, we don't have room for malice, arrogance or disrespect. We have never had conflicts with people dropping the N-word or any other racial slurs so please don't be our first. We DO have room for hugs and kisses and...just kidding...(but we really do). Our raid environment is very mellow as well. If you are looking for a raid leader to nerd rage and call you out on vent, we are not for you. But, if you are looking to raid with some good-hearted people -who know how to be effective in a raid environment for 9 hours a week, without being jerks to each other- check us out :)
We have no gear or experience requirements, just looking for people whose mamas taught them: If you can't say something nice...please keep away from Ockhams Razor on Ghostlands!

Raquel, I spoke to you in game, and just wanted to reaffirm. I'm available Monday and Tuesday nights when ever you need a guest. I may be on 'Carnasses (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/ghostlands/Carnasses/advanced)' or 'Hughgotgot (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/ghostlands/Hughgotgot/advanced)', but would switch if you need a rDPS.
