Myrmidon is recruiting for our Serious 10man Progression Raid team.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
HEALER
- Holy Paladin - HIGH PRIORITY - with strong Ret OS pref

TANK - closed

DAMAGE
- Destruction/Affliction Warlock - Medium Priority -
- Fire Mage - low
- Shadow Priest - low

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Raid Times
Raid Times = Wed/Thu/Mon 9:30pm-12mid
Guild LFR = Tue 9:45pm start (for Try-Outs and Friends)

How to Apply
Contact Heavenli (Recruitment Officer) or Lovepony (Guild/Raid Leader). In-game via tells or in-game mail to arrange a meeting, or join us online and fill out an app at: http://clickthelightwell.com

Recruitment Needs Summary:
On the Healing Side,
- Want a Holy Paladin to give us more options in our healing core, which consists of a Resto Druid, Resto Shaman, and Disc Priest, as we pursue the final 3 hardmodes in DS. You will also be part of a rotation system which depending upon your OS capabilities, could see more or less time in.

On the Tank side,
- Not recruiting any tanks for this raid, as I still have the same OT I've had since ICC, and now we also have access to a Blood/Unholy DK. As a result, just no need for another.

On the DPS side,
- We want to re-acquire a new Warlock to provide more Ranged DPS depth to our line up, and because of the buff they can bring to further enhance our ranged performance levels.
- Currently have a very talented Mage and are not looking to replace him, but he is designated as a 'backup' because of his inability to consistently make raid times (fluctuating RL schedule), and would like to acquire another of similar status (means you can raid with us under a 'flex schedule' but wouldn't be an official 'starter' but you would 'start' often enough depending on your availability).
- Still have the original Spriest we acquired shortly after forming, and he still raids with the guild but is part of the 2nd Raid starting line up and works as a Recruitment Officer for that raid now. I'd generally like another equally capable one for our main raid, to again, add depth.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Qualifications
- DPS need to be able to consistently perform at levels over +45k sustained as a minimum. (our guys average 48-56k)
- Healers need to be able to consistently perform at levels of over 17.5k Hps/Absorb and capable of bringing a comfortable and strong performance in 2 healer situations for which many HM's are required.
- 3/8 H experience or better - we are looking for individuals ready to continue their DS Heroic progression
- Be comfortable with raiding in a highly disciplined team oriented Ventless raid atmosphere, where self-reliance and pre-fight preparation are mandatory.
- Able to maintain 100% Punctual Attendance, baring any rare emergencies.
- All raiders must have a geared and capable offspec, as we are a 10man raid unit.

Who are we?
A collaboration of individuals from different guilds (from 1st server ranked to 40th) transferred summer of 2011, the core of which has been raiding together since summer or 2010. We maintain a relatively small raiding unit that is highly dedicated to pushing progression content at a competitive pace. We like to maintain an enjoyable yet disciplined raid atmosphere, that works productively together at overcoming challenges placed before us.

Myrmidon has an exceptionally low turnover rate and acquisition rate with members, because we are extremely selective in who we bring into the fold. It is our goal to be the last guild an individual ever joins by ensuring it through an overly thorough screening process. We recruit the 'whole package', both attitude and ability. We like to ensure those who join us are going to be with us long term and stand on equal footing with other members. There is no weak link or carried individuals with us, because all raiders must continually earn their slots.

We are about quality over quantity to the extreme, and therefor do not engage in mass recruitment, guild mergers, or package deals. Each member earns their place as an equal and valued contributing member of the team. All new members undergo a unique process that ensures social awareness of their standing within the collective. All new members know exactly where they stand with us, and where we stand with them to ensure the complete absence of doubt and instead inspire confidence and camaraderie.

PS> Here's a shocker. As was pointed out to me recently, we're actually not a bunch of A-holes condescending to people with a giant massive pole up our collective butts. Instead we deal in blunt honesty and directness with an intolerance for bullsht. Be real and man up or GTFO.

In laymen terms, selective with standards.

About our Ventless Nature (do to request)

We do not employ any voice chat software communication what-so-ever in raids, nor do we have one setup for casual guild conversations. Some members do use Skype with each other for casual purposes, but we are designated as a 'No Vent' guild.

In raids we do not employ a hefty line-up of macro's to communicate 'on the fly' communications. Instead we have approximately a 7 macro database that is employed, with only about 3 of those macros being used heavily in all honesty. What to do when those macros are employed is defined ahead of time in our progression discussion talks.

We are able to use such little 'in raid' communication because we require raiders to participate in guild forum discussions previous to raid time, and thereby come prepared ahead of time, which they do or they get to sit until they do. As a longtime participant of the Raid and Guild Leadership forums, I have seen how many RL/GL's have a hard time getting their raiders to participate in guild forum discussions and frequently 'show up' to raids expecting an explanation (over Vent).

By limiting our channels for interaction with the removal of that voice chat tool, which does make things easier in many ways - I'm not doubting that, they simply gravitate towards the communication avenues that are still open to them. It also has the added benefit that people can participate in a discussion at their own time, since it is forum based, instead of needing to be logged into the game at specific times to 'hear' what they need to know or to provide feedback.

Additionally, by restricting our raids and guild from employing such software we have opened the doors to other types of raiders normally discriminated against for their inability to employ it. Most notably, deaf or hearing impaired raiders. Instead of being considered 'sub' raiders in many cases elsewhere, they are simply equals in our guild and raids and fit right in. This has given us a 'niche' in recruitment. Actually in all sincerity, they also tend to be exceedingly proactive guild members on behalf of the guild to protect what we provide, a true place of equality and respect.

The most common question I encounter by doubters of Ventless raiding is:

How do you tell people what to do in an emergency?

The answer is simple: I don't.

They should know what to do at any given moment. They told me they know how to play their class, they know what their skills are and when is the ideal time to use them, and that they researched the fight ahead of time and communicated with other individuals for their role type and worked out in advance who's doing what and when. I don't tell people to brez, they know when to brez and who to brez or else they wouldn't be in my raid.

Instead I put my trust in their ability to play their class and make the appropriate judgement call when needed. In other words, I expect them to use their brains. That's why we are hardcore about 'carrying your own weight'.

As a result of my practices in raid methodology many of my raids result in 'flawless kills' and people are genuinely proud about their performances AND the raid's collectively. There is a lot of "we" in "we did it". When we down a boss, it's farm from there on out.

It's just an alternative approach to popular raid methodology. Typically the focus is on getting it down as soon as possible, which can commonly result in struggles the following week or weeks. I strive to ensure my entire raid line up knows the fight hands down, even what to do if someone else is missing, so when we come back the next week, it's a 1 shot even if we have one or two people who weren't there for the kill. It also has the benefit of knowing what to do if someone does die and an emergency situation arises.

For example, on our first H Hagara kill it was smooth until some bad things happened and people died here and there. The raid responded collectively and did what needed to be done, bringing back the right people at the appropriate time. We were still down 2 members of the raid when she went into a Lightning Phase that were part of the pylon connecting teams. We adapted and still connected them all and killed her in the following stun period for our first kill. No one even said anything or typed anything out. We simply reacted accordingly.

I don't raid Ventless because its harder. I do it because it makes things easier and gives me a more enjoyable gaming experience!

And well.. I like how the game sounds on my 5.1 surround system, not ruining it to hear some 8 bit mono voice crackling over a 5 dollar mic with a fan blowing and some one's TV/Kids screaming in the background. I like being immersed in the game I pay to play without distracting and annoying real life elements screwing it up. Eff Vent, you can have it.

On an additional note, we also take care of our own. while gear requirements/item lvls are a big boost, on the previous server our top dps started out in simple hero gear. They came in like any other app, handled the sht jobs thrown at them, and were given a starting spot in under a week along with every pretty purple that could be given. Many other guilds have to toss up who to bring out of a pool of 20+. This group does it out of maybe 14. Those who are starters get starting spots in till they decide they no longer want to, and even back ups get well taken care of.
Also, despite the hardass appearance that pony gives, this raid is as chill in terms of interacting as any other group u can come across. The only difference is people separate business and pleasure. We mess up, get told what needs to get done, get our heads on straight, and stuff dies. No fuss, no mess, all shiny purples and we go on making fun of each other and having a good night.

This is not a guild, and it is not a raid. It is having a chance to see and experience all of 4.2 can offer with very little draw back and having a fun time doing it. You like your guild and its perks? perfectly fine. The only commitment you have to make is 9-12 for the choosen raids that night and pull your weight. You show up, do good/do what is required and get geared.

ps. wtb a pic that says the correct server im on.......

Well to my credit, I did keep saying "I'm pretty sure he's on vacation for a week." I had to delete all my old mails when I xferred. Yeah yeah I know I shoulda made a copy of some of the recent ones. I accidentally just did a mass old mail delete. I had like 3-4 pages of old mail. =^P

Edit: So yeah, 3 healers and 2 tanks LF DPS. Will be running stuff this week at our raid times. Once our group is complete, we'll be hitting both hardmodes and FL content with a vengeance.
