Hello everyone on forums reading this. I would like to start off by saying sorry if this was a waste of your time, and this is not a qq about anything just something i had noticed and wondered if there was a reason for it.
During the goblin quests you notice at the beginning we have trolls mining for us, and you are required to gather ore from them later on. near the end of their starting quests you see goblins being enslaved and working as miners. Finally (i may be wrong please correct me if i am) we goblins not almost always made to mine for other races? With all of that said we have a alchemy boost which is nice, but i am questioning why did blizzard pick us to have a alchemy boost over a mining since i haven't noticed to much of the goblin lore having to deal with herbs, or flasks or potions or any of that. Thank you for your time :) your friendly wanna be harry potter goblin dobbey :D (yes i know hes an elf but there are no mini elfs so yea...i did my bets :l) |

An explosive is a goblin's best friend. Guess which science invented gunpowder? ;)
Beyond that, the thing goblins in WoW are best known for is engineering, but that racial already belongs to the gnomes. However, we do also have precedence in alchemy, thanks in large part to the Goblin Alchemist hero unit from WC3 (http://www.wowwiki.com/Goblin_Alchemist_%28Warcraft_III%29). Beside which, we goblins have an advantage in creating new potions and elixirs, since we don't have those annoying "health and safety regulations" that make other races go through extensive testing phases before putting their products on the market. Now then, can I interest you in a Potion of Invincibility? It's made with 100% natural* ingredients! *[Legalese omitted for reading convenience. Buy NEW! Potion of Invincibility today! It's got electrolytes!] |

in harry potter the goblins run the bank and all the money in the wizard world.
also Dubby was a house elf, who got killed by Voldemort's crew in Deathly Hallows.( I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO! Dubby! why!? WHYYY!!???!) |

in harry potter the goblins run the bank and all the money in the wizard world. Another of several reasons I liked the movie version better than the book version: ending the first half with Dobby's death just gives his sacrifice that much more punch and significance. In the book it went by pretty fast, but in the movie it's the second to last thing we see, right before Voldy getting the uberwand. Holy crap, the second half comes out this week, doesn't it? |

it comes out the 15th (my brothers birthday :D) cant wait to see it!!!

We picked the +15 to Alchemy bonus for goblins because there has always been a strong association between the race and the profession. Not only do goblins have a notable, if not sometimes-deadly penchant for experimentation in World of Warcraft (just take a look at Of course, you might feel differently and think that alchemy meshes a little better with another race, or that another profession (like mining) might be better suited for goblins, and that's cool. We're pretty happy with where goblin racials are currently, but we certainly always appreciate your feedback -- be it about something as large as class balance or as specific as how racial bonuses tie in terms of lore. :) |

Hooray for the alchemy boost! I'm looking forward to leveling this profession.

We really do need more alchemy with offensive options available for players.
I would suggest we get the goblins more active in Alchemy -ingame- and lorewise though. |
|
|
Because as the superior race, we realized a +15 to mining, is no where near as good, as +15 to Alch.

LOL. This. |
It's a huge money maker. |
Well, I dunno about you guys, but since you bumped up the default water breathing, then the Forsaken's racial is kinda wasted unless you wanna go AFK while underwater... Why not give Alchemy to the forsaken because of their unceasing efforts to create plagues (Apothecaries) And give Goblins their mining racial, since it fits better (imo) with the lore you presented on them when cata was going to launch. (aka, the "we used to mine all the time for trolls" bit) |
We really do need more alchemy with offensive options available for players. Pretty much this right here. It would make more sense to have the Forsaken to have a bonus to alchemy than Goblins. Wasn't WotLK based mostly on events that arose from the Forsaken? Also there is the Royal Apothocary Society that is active in Under City. There is far more lore and a Forsaken presense of alchemy than the Goblins. |

Lylirra, flying dragon kite! I have a suggestion, but in return for your time I will refit you with a Some professions are missing a racial match! As are races missing their profession: Main
Inscription Leatherworking Mining Tailoring Secondary
First Aid Fishing *-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Horde
Troll Forsaken Alliance
Night Elves *-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Proposal: Orc - Blacksmithing (Orgrimmar has gone through a metallic renaissance, a skill any Orc would flaunt!) Troll - Leatherworking (Beasts and Trolls, been together so long mon. Surely we learn ta tan a few hides, ya?) Forsaken - Tailoring (If I were in stitches, I would want to learn how to sow a few threads too!) Human - Mining (Human masonry is amazing! And such clean cuts require great affinity with stoneware.) Night Elves - Inscription (Traditionally, elves are masterful scribes. Especially a race with a such a long history in magics.) And keep the secondaries just that!~ |
