Is this a one time event? The post linked implies it, but the vagueness is too much. I'd like to know if this is a once in a blue moon, secondary timeslot, or it isn't.

I live in Perth, so local time is 4pm-10pm, which eliminates any possibility of play for me. I'm not using this as a reason against it, since you can't please everyone (Someone needs to get hit by it), but I assumed the previous time slot was the most ideal, is all. Has that changed at all?

I bet it's because the new GRRM book is being released and everyone at Bliz wants to skip work and read it.

Doesn't matter too much. Yay, I get to play AC: Brotherhood some more. Tuesday is like the only day I get to play other games. <3

Also, the realm will be up at around midnight my time so I'll be able to jump on and cap VP again.

This is pretty fantastic! Will you guys be doing early maintenance more often or is this a one time thing?
I live in Thailand so this way the servers will go down while I'm at work and come back up shortly after I get home, giving me an hour or so to do my dailies. Usually the servers go down RIGHT before I get home from work.

No, that has not changed. This just means there are certain situations or circumstances where we'll change the maintenance window to align with other tasks and ensure as little downtime as possible.

For all intents and purposes, tomorrow morning's maintenance window is an exception to the norm.

This probably isn't the place to post this but, I am PDT, I seem to be getting disconnected everytime i sign in i go on my toon but after like 3 minutes it disconnects me. Anyone else having this problem? or does anyone have an explanation ?

Yes, it is kicking me out too.

Tried another toon on another realm and got disconnected repeatadly also.

Had a brief panic thought that my account was hacked and someone else was logging in and stealing my gold! Went and changed my password. Then i noticed the early maintenance time and realized it was just the servers coming unglued, lol.

Time to troll the forums : )

Well, the 6pm-Midnight outage is unfortunate for East Coast Aussies (and doubly so for our West Coast brethren), but to know it's not the new normal maintenance time helps.

Hopefully we'll see next weeks maintenance back at the usual 5am start, and thank you Zarhym for clearing the point up again in this thread.

This actually works better for some then others, I cant begin to tell you how annoying it is knowing that half of my day is gone before WoW is even up, I hate in on the East coast. US that is.

A whole lot of Aussies are going to end up a day behind on Molten Front unlock now. Pretty much anyone who only plays in the evening will get zero play time today.

I realize there may be certain emergencies, but I think that such short notice for a change with such high impact is unacceptable. Had this been announced* a day or two ago then people who were pushing hard on MF (and VP cap if they didn't already) would have had the opportunity to get up early this morning or take other measures to get things done.

It makes me feel sorry for the New Zealanders who must deal with this uncertainty every week (5am shutdown allowing some play, 3am meaning no play at all).

* Edit - by "announced" I mean on the login-screen news bulletin.

Usually I can only play late night. Love these Early maintinance times like I love dentist appointments... while on fire... while getting mauled by a rabbid parrot and... you get the picture. XD /cry 3:am, irritating, but somewhat doable. 1am: Brick wall. XD Off to make Warcraft 3 maps I suppose. XD
