Topic Back in the day...
Been here since the middle of the transfers off-realm were live. I remember it being empty, then being completely loaded with new players. It was like a game-launch event. So few 80's.
I've always enjoyed being here.
Mery... this is Komics (paladin) from Afterlife... idk if u still rember me but man ur post almost made me cry... i srsly started playing WoW again like a few weeks ago in hopes of trying to have that same experience i had in darromwere during BC.. I would honestly give anything to re-live those years again. Darrowmere was the best gaming experience i ever had in my entire life. and i wish i could talk to all my buddies in Afterlife again, i srsly miss all of them so much! i hope everything good with u mery <3
this guy can play.
and yeah - wow is nothing like it was back in the day. it might be even worse for darrowmere because it was such a nice place to play.
Oh Darrowmere. I came back to these forums after reminiscing on Vent with some fellow old timers from here. It's funny that threads like these still pop up.
Darrowmere wasn't the place you wanted to be for PvE progression, no sir. But if you were looking for characters, legends, carebears and gankers, this was your oasis.
Mery talked about Etherimp v Wildcaster. Those threads would go for days on end, each post as entertaining as the next. It was the sole reason I paid the subscription for as long as I did.
Let's not forget the boys of <PETA>. To this day I am still a Perkypenguin fan boy. In fact, I still recall the day we "dueled" near the Skyguard dailies. By dueled I mean he stomped me so hard I cried.
It's fitting that Myntala would appear and claim control. Next to Varna, he tormented the Horde like a pro.
It is near impossible to really describe the atmosphere of BC era Darrowmere. You had to suffer through it to really appreciate how great it was. As Mery said before me, it is still the best damn server I have ever played on.
Also, Eyecee(?) was the best shadow priest who ever lived, back when shadow priests were laughable at best.
I was on Darrowmere from Vanilla till the end of PvP....
ps. mavris was cool to fight, varna always ran away

Those days were fun especially the Smiles For Miles vs Afterlife. Talking about parking lot brawl at Blizzcom lol. I seriously feel like a walking piece of Darrowmere history since Ive been around SO long lol.
62 Night Elf Hunter
I am the infamous EtherImp of ancient Darrowmerean times.
Mery, good to see you.. Love you. Seriously, I know we had our off moments, but I always liked and respected you and when YOU told me I was out of line, I tended to take it to heart, even if it was not readily obvious.
Beasteo, Gankone, nice seeing you. Good memories, good times back in the day.
Wildcaster is still on my Facebook... we haven't talked in a while, but we've been pals for a long time.
Lacrymosa is also on my facebook, still friends although we don't often get to communicate as we're both busy.
I got Hukka (sp?) into League of Legends, and I still speak to him. He's an awesome guy.
LazyLlama was awesome, and even though PerkyPengiun prolly hates me, he was awesome too.
I don't play WoW anymore.. Haven't since I quit after Season 4 before WoTLK was released. Played a little Minecraft, League of Legends, Battlefield 3... Been into Eve Online lately, which is quite fun. Gave my account to a friend and now she plays on it and has become quite an extraordinary Arena Warlock.
While I respected Varna for his dedication to ganking, his tactics were cowardly, and he was overall horrible at PVP. He would only gank lowbies and people who were either already engaged in a fight or in the process of fighting an overwhelming group of mobs. In other words, he was a bully.. I don't understand where this "respect" for him comes from.
Not that I didn't gank lowbies or people who were doing quests.... Not that I didn't do my fair share of griefing... But I could and would beat people 1v1 in a fair fight.
<Eulogy> was once a name feared on the Battlegrounds, and we were one of the only PVP focused groups on Darrowmere and we dominated the battlegroup, in Arena and Battlegrounds.. Had a lot of great PVPers, most of which I cannot remember. Tomace and his brother, for one.
There were some good Alliance side PVPers as well... Wildcaster, Rnn, etc.
Kiting Anachoros from Caverns of Time to RageFireChasm and watching her go apes%$% on noobs is among my favorite memories of Darrowmere.. As well as taking control of Storm Wind auction house and making all the carebears QQ. Oh, then there was the 40+ man Horde Raid on a PVE alliance raid in Shadowmoon Vale which sent the forums into ragemode for several days.
Mery and her drawings...Those weird Indian subtitled movies.. Great stuff overall.
If any of the old Darrowmere players see this post and wanna hang out and reminisce sometime, feel free to email me at Etherimp@gmail.com and I will send you my Mumble info. Would be kind of neat to catch up.
Don't know what made me load up these forums again but...I have some weird sense of pride in the fact that my name is still being mentioned on here after all these years.
Adios Darrowmere, once again. ;)

silly little troll enhancement shaman reporting in. Wanna give a shoutout to my homies cox and rithmik YA DIG
all grown up now
Lazyllama. I MISS HIM.
i sincerely think that was the first time I started enjoying arena. He taught me a lot, and I am really appreciative of that.
I also remember Hukah, he was that silly ol orc warlock!
p.s. gonna shamelessly plug my stream here:
http://www.twitch.tv/lacrymosa1323 :) tune in for silly warlock fun
those threads were better than most of what went on in game. ether vs wild and ether vs. varna were classic for everyone.
besides Gankone - i think i am the only one still on this server, and i just mess around.
i think Mery has quit wow for the time being. we talked a few months ago but it seems her main isnt on the armory anymore.
ps - we liked varna and wild because they caused a sht storm on the forums with the horde. those days we were outnumbered at least 10-1.
yeah those were good times. i forget the gm's name, but he was a nice dude.
i also remember our vent was packed because we had like 7-8 chicks in our raids.
Your favorite Darrowmere Enhancement shaman checking in here. WOW so many names and so many people. I still talk to the Afterlife, DiE crew. (DiE's GM was Darkmang (after the name change.)
I cant believe that people have forgotten Duckleg. Best freakin pvp Enhancement shaman around in BC (when enhancement blew for arena and pvp.)
I still come here every now and then just to read and see how the server is going. I SERIOUSLY miss those days in BC. It was like a small town where everyone (seriously) knew who you were and what you were about.
I still have some old screenies I think of back in the day.
I remember the Sarth 3Drakes up drama where Smiles for Miles got it down by using the void tank method and afterlife making lvl 1 warlocks and porting em to Dal and all of em had some iteration of "voidtank" for their names and spamming trade asking to join the guild so we could tank sarth 3d.
Sigh, I seriously miss this server sometimes but the people who MADE this server are no longer here. If we all came back Im sure we would hit it up again.
Hell yeah duckleg was beast. I cant remember what his frost mage's name was but yeah...
Anyone know if he still plays?
I also cant forget Volgrim's little skits he would put together and play over vent. Tommyguns ... oh god. BUBBLEGUNS ....lmao
