I'm trying to create a macro that will cast midsirection on my focus if it exists, my pet if i don't have a focus, and will cast mend pet if i hold shift when i hit it.

so far, i have the midsirection targetting working, and this is what it looks like:
/cast [@focus,help][@pet,exists] Misdirection

everything i've tried to do to add the modifier to cast mend pet has failed.

/cast [@focus,help][@pet,exists] Misdirection; [mod:shift] Mend Pet
doesn't work.

/cast [@focus,help][@pet,exists] Misdirection
/cast [mod: shift] Mend Pet
doesn't work, just always casts misdirection.

some help please?

Most restrictive conditions first.

/cast [mod:shift]Mend Pet;[@focus,help,nodead][@pet]Misdirection

Why are you complicating things?
/target <pet name>
/cast Misdirection
/targetlasttarget
/cast mend pet

a) Your macro is not as efficient - there's no need to switch targets, forcing yourself to lose DPS time, to cast spells on your pet.

b) Please don't necro threads. I doubt that, a year and a half later, the original poster is interested in your ideas of efficiency.
