Topic nine core star wars books
Im a big fan of star wars books and have heard that there is 9 "core" books starting with the first three clone wars books into the original new hope three then a following three which i dont know.
I am vaugely familiar with teh story of the last three. Luke studies the dark side for a bit and emperor palpatine is resurected somehow?
anyway, does anyone know the last three books names so i can go find em
So Star Wars: A New Hope was originally named simply Star Wars. When it became apparent that multiple movies might be made, it was renamed A New Hope. At around the same time it was all named Episode 4...just sort of randomly.
This led fans to assume that there was a prequel trilogy.
Now over the years Lucas had mentioned at various times that the overall story was actually meant to be 9 movies. But he said a lot of stuff in all those years, so who the hell really knows.
Supposedly, Lucas said at one point that the prequel trilogy, as we know, deals with Anakin becoming Darth Vader. The final trilogy was supposedly meant to deal with the various children of Han/Leia and Luke/some slag.
Again though, who the hell really knows? Lucas likes to talk a lot. Much of what he says is contradictory.

all in all Ive read dozens of books
Edit: idk if anyone else has read the death troopers book by joe schrieber but it combines space zombies and star wars..I cant decide if its worht recomending or not.
you are thinking of 3 books written by timothy zahn- the thrawn trilogy
Heir to the Empire
Dark Force Rising
The Last Command
so called 7/8/9 in line with the movies by fans
also shadows of the empire is the book where luke gets "turned" in between empire/return
You're thinking of the Dark Horse Comics trilogy: Dark Empire, Dark Empire 2, and Empire's End.
