I'm sure all of you know about the casino games, black jack, and other things such as buying game time with gold. I myself was stupid enough to get myself into the following..

I was almost out of game time and got desperate, I had 17k gold and thought to myself.. "Maybe I can buy some with gold.." Before you know it /2 "whisper me to buy game time with gold!"

I whispered him and said "how much time could I get for 15k?" and without a second passing he whispered "how ever much you want, make an offer! if you buy over 50k i'll giver you TWO ingame mounts!!" Things seemed a title weird, but he was a level 85 and showed me 70k gold. He was very interested in people spending over 50k..
"How much for 7k?" i replied. "2 months!" he said.

I was thrilled! 7k for 2 months? Awesome! I jumped into his motercycle and we started to talk. I asked if he could prove I wouldn't been scammed and throught a 10 minute span he said things like "I have hundreds of customers", "I use to own a gamestop", "I've been doign this for 9 months", etc. I felt quite reassureed so I have him my gold and he said "One second, let me get the code"

"1"
"3"
"5"
"6" he said.
"Stop, I have an addon that can copy and paste, I can just do th-"
Before I finished he was offline.
Yes, sadly I should have went with my instincts and not gone throught with this mistake. I'm not crying, I'm not raging, I'm trying to send a message to those who play these games and try to get around the rules. Blizzard makes these rules for a reason, and had I followed them I would be 7k more gold rich. I didn't write this for your sympathy. I'm aware this took place on a non-Oceanic server, and I feel that should not prevent me from warning all of you of these scams.

They are professional con-artists that are scamming for gold. The best one i have seen was on my old server where one of our GMs in a guild i was levelling in got hacked and then the hacker pretended to be our GM. He managed to con the guildmaster to lend him gold and steal stuff from the guild bank.

The account/character you were buying from was probably hacked.

don't know if you realized this but if he bought that game time with a stolen/hacked credit card and the bank reported the transaction and you used that code for game time Blizz would ban your account

I have a question. The gold that accumulates in the guild bank from player perks (level 25 guild 10% perk), does that belong to the guild members or the guild master. I have noticed that the guild master removes all the gold almost daily, including gold that members have deposited thinking they could get it later. I was under the impression the purpose of the guild bank was to support its members, NOT for it to be a money machine for a GM. Opinions??

Paulie you should create a seperate thread. I believe it should be for the guild as a whole, as the gold that goes in there's usually from fellow guildies doing quests. however he could be
Using the gold to buy receipts for crafted gear for raiders, mats, etc.

Technically, anything put into the guild bank (this includes money) belongs to the guild, managed by the guild master. As such, anything in the bank is considered the guild master's to do with how they wish (through settings, they can allow access to other guild members or they can horde the entire bank for their own use or use a setting somewhere between the two).

Another 6pts and 7k gold for this wily scammer. Well played by him and hopefully it goes into the replay wheel of the season's highlights.

Don't buy gold. Don't buy game time. If you're going to be greedy and shifty, at least be smart and scam others. Not yourself.
