With the final showdown against Deathwing approaching, we’ve been keeping a close eye on players' progress through the current Firelands raid content. Before patch 4.3 is released, we want groups who are working on Heroic-difficulty content to be able to get as close to Ragnaros as possible, and we want players who are tackling normal progression to be able to experience as many of the encounters as they can. To achieve these goals, we’ll be toning down the difficulty of both normal and Heroic raids through hotfixes in the coming weeks. In general, we plan to reduce health and damage of all raid bosses in both normal and Heroic Firelands by around the same percentage we brought difficulty down for the original Cataclysm raids when Rage of the Firelands (patch 4.2) was released.

We're looking forward to seeing more groups of players face off against the Fire Lord in the weeks ahead. However, before we make these changes, we want to give everyone a final shot at the bosses at their current difficulty level -- so this is a heads up that we’re planning to apply the difficulty hotfixes beginning the week of September 19.

Honestly, we aren't the most progressed or hardcore group of people around, but really? Already?

Nerfing raid content is stupid imo. You can either do it, or you can't, and I'm perfectly fine with saying I couldn't over saying I did it, but to some bastardized version of it.

Well, you know what they say... Give a mouse an Icecrown Citadel and they'll want a Firecrown Citadel, too.

I thought this stuff was supposed to be nerfed after the release of the next content patch. FFS, they even said it themselves in the last sentence of the first paragraph (nerfed when patch 4.2 was released). I don't see 4.3 on the PTR, let alone a release, yet next week content will be nerfed.

We've had roster issues throughout the entire tier (all of the 11 weeks), but overcoming these challenges with the short time we have had to raid with said issues is a part of the enjoyment.

I agree with nerfing content after the next tier is released, but I really can't believe they are doing this next week.

Oh man, it's waaaaayy to early for nerfs. Especially nerfing heroic modes.

Yeah, I think nerfing it when the next tier drops is a good way of doing things but progressively nerfing it as the tier comes to a close seems like a huge mistake.

Luckily since they were stupid enough to warn people there will probably be enough complaints on the general forums to at least make them rethink their decision. Hopefully they'll decide against this decision and just do what they did with the original Cata raids and just wait until the next tier drops.

I hope they change their minds.

No, seriously.

I really am not looking forward to the nerfs...We were finally getting some serious attempts and progress on Rags, I don't want that to be devalued by nerfs. During t11 content our guild finally killed nef about 2 weeks prior to the nerfs and it was a huge sense of accomplishment. It may not be as great and fast as some of the other guilds on this server, but we accomplished the full normal raiding tier in the time allotted, now with these early nerfs it's going to feel like we either weren't good enough to get through, and/or that our time working on it was meaningless because the difficulty level pre-nerf and post-nerf for t11 was a complete joke....if firelands becomes that easy....well...

just my opinion though.

This is way too soon...I don't care if content gets nerfed once new tiers are released, that's perfectly fine, but I don't like this. I don't think there's any shame in having trouble with bosses that are difficult, as long as you keep trying and learning and whatnot, instead of just getting free handouts like this. And it sucks for people who WERE trying and now their work is being devalued due to something they have no say over.

Lol....they didn't even "slowly" roll out the nerfs....have you read the patch notes? Like, there is no use whining now...and I fully expect to see all those guilds sitting at 6/7 to be 7/7 this week, but it's still kind of a drag...

Hey guys can I raid Firelands now? I do less DPS than tanks but the 15% and probably progressively worse nerfs will cover it...

I can't wait to see how they follow up 15% nerf to everything except heroic Ragnaros.

Boss's will now fall over when you give them a mean stair and offer their full loot table on every kill including rare mounts.
