Hey guys, I know I'm from another server, so you'll probably see me and think "wtf?" but...I have method behind my madness!
My fiance and I were told to visit this server by a friend named Whitley who is originally from here. We are both from Dallas, Texas and I was actually excited to see this thread. We were wondering about the progression and RP on the server, and if need be, I can ask elsewhere if directed so as to not jack the thread :). |

We were wondering about the progression and RP on the server, and if need be, I can ask elsewhere if directed so as to not jack the thread :). Welcome! Hope your visits have been pleasant. Not from Texas myself, but I have October as a roommate, which makes life interesting at times. RP's not so in-your-face here as on other servers, given our age. There is some walk up RP and general gathering spots, but (like most RP anywhere in any format) you've got to work for it a bit, as people are shy given the number of non-RPers--though I've seen some come to the defense of RPers when griefers act up, so hey. We do have a variety of social events happening weekly; check out the calendar threads stickied in our forum. Also, rp-haven.com has an updated roster of guild activities and social RP events (if people mentioned them there as well). A lot of Shadow Council RPers (by no means all) use Haven to post stories, discuss game stuff, and advertise/learn of events. Both Horde and Alliance sides also have /Haven channels in addition to the usual /OOC chats. Best bets: Hordeside has Fancy Cakes in Silvermoon on Sunday evenings, The Laughing Zhevra in Ratchet on Mondays, and someone's thinking of restarting the story circles in Thunder Bluff every other Saturday, alternating with Pox's (OOC) RP Workshops in the same space. Alliance has the Choppin' Block on Tuesdays in the Dwarf District's Golden Keg, and Noxxie's Evening Entertainment in the Blue Recluse on Thursdays. There are open IC meetings for various guilds (Alliance side I know of the Meddlers, the Ghost Scions, and The Silver Dragoons). Raid Progression: There are a lot of folks done with Normal Firelands and working on Heroics, or just on getting their casters the Legendary! Summer, real life, and Cata's general slump left some guilds breaking down to 10 mans, but things are still trucking along smoothly for many groups. We also have stickies up top for raiding, though I don't know how many use them. Some of the RP (or RP friendly) guilds do raid and many can match the progression of more hardcore teams, though many take a more casual approach. Hope that helps! Now back to your regular Texan programming. ;) |
