Hey, guys. I've noticed quite a few Alliance friends disappearing off my friend list, and I've noticed most of them have just transferred to horde, or just aren't on the server anymore. At least 4 of my friends in a few months...which isn't a lot, but lately I've noticed the economy is garbage, there's never anything on the AH anymore, and if there is, it's insanely expensive.

I went to http://www.warcraftrealms.com/realmstats.php and checked out Nathrezim's numbers...It's really bad.

Alliance Population: 263 (6%) (>level 10, played in the last 30 days)

Horde Population: 3,967 (94%) (>level 10, played in the last 30 days)

Total Recorded Population: 4,230

Now, some of these numbers have not been recently updated. If you go that website I mentioned and view Nathrezim, the Alliance number is red, and the Horde number is yellow. Horde data is fairly new, but Alliance data is very, very old.

I know we're not the only realm out there with a population balance problem, but I guess my hope is that Blizzard will do something to re-vitalize the population, either a full > low population server transfer for free, or merging a few servers...but I want to know if the population is REALLY that low.

I've installed The CensusPlus UI mod @ http://www.warcraftrealms.com/censusplus.php and will be uploading my results often. I hope everyone on Alliance, and the Horde do the same.

There is definitely a problem that Blizzard should address. The only time this server has any semblance of a decent population is 1) the 1 month period following an expansion and 2) the 1 week period following a major content patch. At almost all other times it's dead, which makes recruiting raiders, finding PvP partners, etc. very difficult. Trying to get a prospective raider to server transfer here is like pulling teeth.

That being said, here are some "more accurate" numbers from WoWProgress:

These are max level characters who have participated in a ranked raid, so they may not be accurate. The numbers can't tell if the players are alts or anything like that, either.

Yeah. Using ranked content seems like a much better idea to gauge population.

i do recall that during the first day of expansion of cata, when i get to mount hyjal, my screen is flooded with red tags and hardly any green . so there is no way that the ratio is 1 to 2. horde here at least 3 times more than the alliance

My first census for the last 6 hours has completed, which included peak times.

Total Unique Alliance Characters: 489.
Total Unique Alliance Characters at level 85: 304

Will run for a few more days for maximum results before I upload the info.

Oh. Sorry. That's probably my bad. It looks kind of skewed on warcraftrealms because I have the census addon auto scanning and uploading every day, or more than once a day. Hence the terrible ratio.

I'm going to create a level 1 Horde character and run a quick census there to see what initial numbers show.

Not a very good sample, but a quick result:

Took 6 minutes 31 seconds (Alliance census generally takes 2 minutes 30 seconds)

Total Unique Horde Characters: 593
Total Unique Horde Characters at level 85: 412

A whole weekend of census data has been helpful to show that Alliance may not be completely dead, but it's sure down there:

Horde: 4,344 (75%)

I applaud the work you have done and hope that Blizzard will take notice and hopefully be able to do something about it. (...probably not, sadly)

So far from the Warcraft Realms website: Total level 85s: (Not unique accounts)

Total Alliance: 1,291 - 33%
Total Horde: 2,673 - 67%

Retribution is fun to raid with and we are looking for a ranged dps! Come to the alliance side and raid with us. Plus if you are into the whole pvp thing then there are PLENTY of horde to kill in TB.

Nathrezim isn't quite as dead as I had feared (hoped). We had about 81 new Alliance entries submitted since I raised awareness of this thread, and about 40 or so Horde entries.

Sorry but I wouldnt say there are plenty of horde to kill in TB lol alliance rarely does any of that. Played ally on this server since vanilla finally got tired of losing all the time after going through many Wintergrasp losses in WOTLK so I transfered horde.

time to go through the entire forums and bump a post 5 months old to give my two cents
