Paid Character Services
|
I am a recently returned to the Game. I did this for the purpose of joining some new co-workers in the gaming enjoyment. However after spending 80 USD in expansions and an additional 15 USD per month for service. I find out that in order to join my co-workers I will need to spend an additional 105 USD in paid services. I assumed that either customer service could help with this but apparently not.
So They advised me to post here with my recommendation for service change. So here it is. Returning players should get a flat fee option to due a full character adjustment. Like 50 USD. Anyways At this point I am not going to continue playing after this month cause the Price of joining my friends are too high. Please feel free to contact me if I have not made my advice clear. Thanks |

To put it bluntly, you don't need to do this. At any rate, there are few reasons for a company to lower its prices. Two of which are: 1) They want to drum up business. 2) They want more people doing it. Neither of which Blizzard wants with the character services. ___________________________ <<It doesn't work the way I want it to, so it must be bugged.>> |

I disagree with you.
People return to games normally because A) they are bored and are looking to play something they enjoyed before. Or B) to join new friends in a gaming experience that they have enjoyed with previous friends. I Stopped playing WOW cause my friends stopped playing, now I have new friends and I am returning to a game after years of not playing. So to assume that my characters are going to be where i need them is ludicrous. Also why should I have to abandon all that hard work I had done previously. Why is it to much to ask for a company that posted a 503 million dollar profit in the first quarter to offer a incentive service package for returning players. I am willing to pay for the expansions and the monthly fee but it seems unreasonable for to sacrifice all my previous play time or pay additional 105 USD for a service that realistically has a cost of pennies. I am not saying that these services should be free, but for people returning to the game with more than a years down time they should be discounted. On a side note the customer service reps that answer the phones are some of the most polite and helpful phone jockeys I have ever had to deal with. |

Just move one char. You can move the others later on. One is all that you need to play

Regardless of what you or I believe, they are unlikely to change it any time soon. ___________________________ <<It doesn't work the way I want it to, so it must be bugged.>> |

Wysh,
Forgive these posters, they just don't know what friends are and can't possibly understand. I agree with you, I am returning to play with friends and dread having to spend on a faction change and character transfer. It's just not the same to start over when you have a character that has years of achievements and items. I wish a full character re-customization would take place when you transfer to a new server, including a faction/race/appearance/name change. Veterans should be granted such a service for free after so many days of being active or inactive. That is all. |
Wysh, I posted a big, long rant regarding this very thing. Only mine covers a broader range of players. Exactly what you said is the way it SHOULD be, and makes 150% sense. Once you pay the $25 to move a character to a new server, you should have the option of ally/horde, your name, looks and so on. Maybe only let you change your looks if you are changing factions, because obviously, that blood elf can not be a blood elf if you are xfering in as ally. I think the $25 fee to move a character is 100% ridiculous when they are already milking you for $15/month anyway. But hey, if they want to charge $100000000000/hour to press a button, then i guess so be it, and yes if it is NOT an automated process to begin with, then i can guarantee it takes someone a couple button presses to complete the transfer. Ok, so they are greedy, and poke you for every $$ they can...... so be it, but come on...... Dont make someone pay $25 to move a character, THEN make them pay ANOTHER $25 for a faction change on a NEW server...... Just as you said, when you move servers, those should be your options for $25....... |

A Blizzard relpy to this topic would be greatly appreciated
I'm not sure if Blizzard intended this to happen, or if it is just a flaw in their system that charges double for basically 1 service, even though a faction change and server change is offered. Just seems a little much charging someone $50+ for a server move. |
