I(WE) need to know how it works for when a server dwindles down to almost nothing... is there a benchmark that has to me made for Blizzard to start acting?

or must we bash are heads on the server for ever because some cant afford to xfer. which makes the problem worse... so is BWL just forgotten about or does blizzard not care about its paying players some of whos been paying to play on BWL alliance for quite a long time?

How it works:

Blizzard does not include a required amount of "having fun" in the ToS. If you are not enjoying your server, you pretty much have 3 options.

1) Reroll

This is the "free" option. People don't like to think about rerolling because of the "investment" or "attachment" to their main character but it really is a good option. Leveling is faster (IE. easier because players think amount of time spent = difficulty) than ever before. You don't need BoA gear to level a toon fast anymore. They are going to reduce the XP needed from 71-80 in 4.3 so Northrend will not be a pain.

If you do not want to level to 85 again, then you can always...

2) Transfer

This costs about $25 per character you want to move. If it is "too expensive" then maybe you shouldn't be playing a subscription based MMO.

If you don't want to "leave your friends" than you can reroll, convince them to reroll, or you can all transfer. Also, the new Real ID based dungeon system is most likely going to expand to include raids and battle grounds, "leaving your friends" will not be an issue soon.

If you won't transfer because you are so concerned with virtual achievements and mount/pet collections that you allow them to dictate your enjoyment of a video game, then you have more serious issues to need to resolve.

3) Quit the game / get new players

Have you ever thought that paying to NOT have fun in a video game is a very stupid thing to do? If you are not enjoying your experience then change it. Maybe getting some friends to play with you will reinvigorate your WoW time. If that doesn't change your "wow is boring" attitude, and you still refuse to do anything yourself, then just quit. Stop playing.

To continue to think that the company, that has ~12 million subscriptions, be responsible for you own enjoyment is a self-centered outlook. Here is an analogy:

Servers are like cities. A major difference is you can choose to "live" in any of them, any time you want. If you are tried of a backwoods, ghost town, then move to the big city. Unlike real small towns, you can't be forced to stay on a small server. All the barriers that keep you from changing where you play are all self imposed. BWL is not NOLA, they can't get federal assistance for being a bad server.

About the "they do merges / free realm transfers" that I'm sure people will post about, those are done to correct overcrowded servers.

While Blizzard is not responsible for the amount of enjoyment you get out of their game, they are "required" to make sure you can "play" the game. Now, the term "playing" has a wide range of meanings, but to Blizzard it means "you are in side the game world" as opposed to "you can't log on because the server is full"

So while it's hard to pug content, the AH prices/options are bad, and it may get lonely in your public chat channels, Blizzard has given you options to deal with it. They are not forcing you to stay on BWL, they are also not stopping you from bringing in new players, they owe us nothing.

PS: Great job on being the first to post about "bwl is low pop we need to get blizz to halp gaiz!" We've never had a thread on this before.

Your best bet is to save you coins and buy either SW :TOR or GW2.

Blizzard will not merge servers because it will be seen as a bad sign by the gaming community.

People will start assuming that the sky is falling, which will lead to more people jumping ship and quitting the game.

Shit realms and poor communities will make people 'jump ship' faster.

I'm pretty sure realm forums are off the radar.

Aside from that, this thread's title violates the forum rules.
