What some if you are forgetting is to look long term both directions. Right now the loot cards for the expansion set to release NINE MONTHS from today from Cryptozoic are already decided on. These things are not last minute "let's try this" ideas. There is no reason on earth that these loot codes could not have been fully implemented and ready for use in Patch 4.2...so we need to stop this ridiculous argument about schedules being so tough. Three items. Eight months. No excuse.

There is no reason on Earth that you cannot keep the loot code in a safe place next to your computer, so it's ready to use when 4.3 hits...so we should stop the ridiculous complaining as it's not going to make the release date come any sooner.
Next patch. Couple months. Nothing we can do about it.
P.S. If you'd like to leave constructive feedback, so this situation might be able to be avoided in the future, please do so in the appropriate forum. Perhaps General.
You are right there is no excuse that this thread is still open.
There is nothing that can be done, the patch is not ready, and the items are unlikely to see their own patch for a long list of reasons.
All they need to do is allow us to enter the codes into the redemption page of our battle.net account, similar to pets/mounts bought on the blizzard store. The pet or mount would appear on our armory page as something like "Coming Soon" on its picture, then it'll be in our mailbox when 4.3 goes live. That way players can see what it looks like in 3D, in our armory, plus there is no chance of losing the code before the patch launches. Entering a code into a website, then copying that into a npc's dialog box ingame for the item, is cumbersome. Just have 1 redemption page on a person's battle.net account, and if it's only for one toon, make the person choose the server and toon from a dropdown menu of all characters linked to the account. K.I.S.S., Keep It Simple Stupid, respectively.

Not a bad solution - but not one that anyone here could implement. Try the Website Feature Requests forums.
