Oldest (Alliance) guild on Madoran?

It was brought up on another realm's forum and has been posted about in trade chat, that Friend's of Fantasy is claiming to be the oldest (Alliance) guild on Madoran. Facts need to be set somewhat straight, because what you're claiming is false.
For one, our lovely server was not open since the beginning of WoW, Madoran was to be used to move people from over-populated servers before The Burning Crusade released. The move was initiated on January 15, 2007; just before the release of the new expansion. Our GM, Menace was at the time GM of the guild Eve of Serenity on Aggramar and a group of them decided to move to Madoran and therein Menace created Renovatus on January 15, 2007. Friends of Fantasy as far as I know was created on January 22, 2007. So honestly, no, you aren't the oldest Alliance guild on here. Please get your facts straight before making false claims to being so. And before other people bring this up, you can't stake your claim to fame by counting time you were a guild before the server was created because you can't prove what you did and what you had before Madoran. Please do research next time :) |

If you wanna be picky, TGO was also created on January 15, 2007 on Madoran. And we were named TGO since December 2004... so technically you could say that we are the oldest alliance guild on Madoran :P

Pretty sure <Zeakets Harem> is the oldest guild on the realm.

This is exactly the reason why I bill TGO as "one of the oldest guilds on Madoran".
It just makes things so much simpler. |

Domus Amicus was also created sometime in the year 2007 I believe

<IMA WHALE OORAAROAOOAA> Not even an original name. :P (They used to be a pretty good Horde guild on Illidan, regularly around 500th in the US, but I think they were one of the many guilds to peter out while working on LK25H. And don't ask me why I know this--it's a long story. And it does involve whales.) |

There was a guild on my old server called BEEPBEEPIMAJEEPLOLZ
that was pretty funny. For a day or so...lol |

back when I was named Mayor (so naturally being human, I had to sport the title "of Stormwind") and I had Roflicers of the Lawl going, I began deputizing people to patrol the city --- mainly looking for Zeaket and Boost sympathizers.
Long story short, budget time came and I was ordered to scale back the department :( |

lol I just found it hilarious that someone was claiming to the be the oldest guild on here, when it's technically not true. And I'm not even claiming that Renovatus is the oldest on here either :P There's prolly a way to check the exact time, but it honestly doesn't matter to me lol

/ginfo will give you the time, if people are dead set on proving who the first was.

If it doesn't matter to you, then why even bother bringing this up in the first place? Why not send their GM a message with the proper info? Just makes you look petty posting it on here, and then claiming it doesn't matter. |

I was talking to Menace one day about the older guilds on the server and noted that my first guild "Northern Warders" is in there also...
It transferred to Madoran in that first week up also... I can't remember from which realm, but 40 players came over in one night with a free realm transfer. Northern Warders is still here on Madoran as an alt guild and the original guild leader is a current officer of Midnight Sunrise =) |
Honestly, it doesn't matter, I was having a damn good laugh over it and thought maybe the forums would like to enjoy the hilariousness of it :) Hell I was joking around with some guildies about the first few guilds being like crotchety old men and complaining about the young hooligans running about XD Must it all be so serious?
