Server Recruitment <Black Dragonflight>

Edited by Scriphal on 11/3/11 3:00 PM (PDT)
i work as one of our guild's main recruiters. we take people with less experience and gear and try them out because experience and gear can be gained, skill is either there or not.
if u beat the mechanics and pull low dps that is ok. dps can increase with gear. however, the issue isn't with the server population, it is will individuals mentality. i realize that i am not going to be able to recruit from fh, foh, memoirs, etc. the guilds that got 6/7h 7/7h before us. so i purposefully find guilds that are 2-4/7h or even 7/7 reg and try to recruit from there. or unguildeds that have minimal experience. u know the OVERWHELMING answer i get? "nah dude, we only need 1 good player for our guild and then we will be number 1." "man, we had a healer quit at fl and are just catching up now. we will beat fh in a week or two." the overall mentality of most of the guilds/players that are 1/7h -4/7 h is that they are missing 1 or 2 people to really make a run at the top spot. and u will do nothing to convince them otherwise. despite them never having cleared past content pre-nerf. u think the answer is recruiting from other better servers/guilds and having them join us. the answer is for guilds/people that are STILL only 3-4/7 h or worse, to objectively view themselves and know that they are more that just 1 person away from the top spot on the server. we have too many guilds sitting in mediocrity, thinking they are the diamonds in the rough, and will explode when they get their last piece. |

I find this topic really quite interesting. Most of my guild are currently considering a move to Black Dragonflight from Eldre’Thalas. We are a 10m group that is currently 3/7H. I am 100% confident that we would be 6/7H, but the PvE scene on ET Horde side is pretty abysmal right now.
We have found it prohibitively difficult to progress based on how tough it is to recruit and retain a solid group for 10m progression raiding on our server. 2 of our group have alts in <Caution Tape> and have great things to say about that guild, and the PvE scene on BDF. Based on their experience/recommendations, BDF is now one of the leading candidates for a destination realm. Right now, we are looking at moving over with a Prot Pally MT, Prot Warrior OT, Resto Druid, Disc/Holy Priest, Fury Warrior, Myself, and a Rogue. We are hoping to add a few more from ET to that, but there are no guarantees. We also have a few non-PvE focused members that are interested in the PvP scene – arena teams/RBG etc. I guess what I’d like to know from the locals is this: would it be possible to recruit the people needed to fill out our group on BDF (we are not sticklers for heroic experience – we are mainly looking ahead to 4.3), or would you instead suggest looking for a guild that can somehow incorporate us into their existing raid structure (that seems like a longshot considering our numbers and roles)? We had envisioned moving the whole guild and just adding through PUGS initially then recruitment. Again, thanks to the locals for this thread – and I am interested to heading what you have to say. |

<3 this wh0re. |
curious why you agree completely, yet u were in a guild that was 5/7 normal....... and u gquit and are in a lvl 1 guild now...... how can u agree with what needs to be done to improve server progression, and be fairly concerned about it because u started the thread, and then do the exact opposite of what attempting to remedy the situation would be..... |
I'm having problems comprehending why a blood elf death knight in ZAG gear from a 4/7N guild is complaining about our servers progression. Or is somehow going to serve as an ambassador to recruit high quality players from other servers. Echelon is still working on H Rag in 25 man, and we are always recruiting exceptional players. Aside from the main group, we also have a 25 man alt run every Wednesday that goes 6/7, and could easily go 7/7 every week if we got some talented players who maybe aren't ready for our progression level, but still want to sucessfully raid. If the roster became solid enough, we could start heroics as well. We also have a 10 man alt run on Mondays that just need a DPS or a healer to fill up a usually pugged spot. For more info on any of these raids.... For the main 25 man that is 6/7 H, you need to apply at http://echelonbdf.wowstead.com/ Please note that our roster is fairly full right now, so you really need to prove yourself to get into this group. You can do that though through our other two raids listed below. For the alt 25 man that is ran on Wednesday, you simply need to contact either Arbearday/Darkmourne or Vverido/Biejiormu in-game for more information. For the alt 10 man that is ran on Monday, you need to contact Distinctive/Skeychamp for more information. Again, this one is fairly full with need only really for a DPS or a healer. If none of the people above are online, just /who Echelon and ask a member (politely, please) if someone is online who has information about our alt raids on Wednesdays and Mondays. |

We had envisioned moving the whole guild and just adding through PUGS initially then recruitment.I would say either start from scratch, pay to transfer a guild over(if you want to have the lvl 25 perks/achieves/rewards), or find one that will let you camp them(for said perks). having 7/10 people means you simply need to find 3-4 more and you have your raid.(which would be that camped guilds members.. or pugs) the choice is of course yours but moving your guild over isnt a bad idea. It gives you more say in how things work, and no fear of your members filling the /camped-guild's raidgroup and forcing a pug. There are certainly enough people hordeside pugging out firelands (6/7 or full clears on reg) Regardless, see you around, and (possibly) Welcome to BDF! =P |

*lights a match, lights grill, gathers the BBQ sauce* yeah you should =P
the choice is entirely yours. I personally like the realm, (ally side at least) you know most people... so the idiots are known.. the trololols are loved (ME! =P) and the good guys are respected by the trolls horde... one of the mob.. if your noticed.. it is probably for a bad reason. =P but progression is good and seems welcoming enough to 'new' people .. |

Thanks Tagg,
Rolled a new character here and trying to decide what to play. Want to play something I haven't leveled over 30 yet. So I'm thinking a rogue, Mage, lock, warrior, or priest. As you can tell I am not an altaholic. I have had only 3 max level characters and only 1 85. Anyways hope to see you in game once I progress a little more. Cheers, The Ally formerly known as Khrumm *edit for mistake :) |

The best way to get a better ranking is for guilds to stop carrying bad players. Whether it takes a merge, some mass recruiting, hurting people's feelings, or even missing some raid nights they have to stop settling for less. Just look at WoL for 5 minutes and you'll find dozens of players in top guilds that consistently die to easy mechanics or can't put out competitive dps/healing.

well.. wil the new patch, rogues will flood the game... locks are the least played class on alliance but are getting very nice looking next patch/expansion
mages are 'fun' in leveling pvp, and are pretty fun high lvl pvp(this is my main.) welcome aboard and see you around! |

The best way to get a better ranking is to reverse the killing this server took when everyone faction changed to horde.
