So DC did their who 52 Reboot of their universe
I tried a lot of the new books and you know what I found out Most of their Superheroes are really boring but Their Non-Superhero books are awesome. Animal Man Swamp Thing Demon Knights I, Vampire All Star Western These are the books I'm hooked on now. On the Superhero side of their universe. I like the New Action Comics with it's non-nonsense, kick your door down Superman (the other Superman book not so much, seems he becomes boring and overly wordy when he gets older) and somehow they made Aquaman cool. Rest of their superheroes, meh I can take it or leave it. (except Red hood and the Outlaws, that book is a steaming pile of crap) |

I'm pissed Beast Boy and Raven are not in it.
They finally, officially get together. Big passionate kiss. Raven FINALLY understanding she needs to accept and use the dark part of her heritage and control it, instead of it controlling her. Major character advancement... And they cut them out.. They cut them out of the new 52? That is not cool. I hope they get their own series.. Better yet, if the Raven tv show happens like its supposed to (think its still being planned) maybe they can both show up there. |

Look a lot of the changes suck and I'm very upset that this reboot happened at all.
Still a few things have been pretty pleasing. Superman has George Perez on it! Perez and Supes are back together and that's damned fine with me. Damien Wayne is still a delightful little psycho. Wonder Woman is readable again! Brian Azzerello has completely turned the book around. Geoff Johns on Aquaman! The Bad: The female characters in some of these books are written just...God, they're written like a frat boy typed the script. Barbara Gordon is out of the wheel chair, thus she's less interesting. The new JLA book sucks. The new JLI book is about as interesting as a dead mouse. The Red Hood book sucks. Rob Liefield is back and HE SUCKS but he always sucked so where's the shock? Jim Lee needs to be fired pronto. Dan Didido needs to follow close behind him if he doesn't pick up his game. |

I agree, it's pretty cool, though I like Action Comics better. Barbara Gordon is out of the wheel chair, thus she's less interesting. Agreed. Justice League seems to playing to the 'I like it when they hit each other' demographic. Although I'm still reading it for some reason. >.>
Ironically the exact opposite of what they said they were going to do. |

I cannot even get over how absolutely wonderful BATWOMAN is. The art is astounding, and while I miss Greg Rucka, J.H. Williams handles Kate very competently and is respecting the plot threads at the end of Elegy. I'm enjoying her new romance with Maggie Sawyer, although I miss her with Renee. :(
And what's great about Batwoman herself is that she is a model of integrity and class. She's respectful, but fun and witty. She's a woman who understands the value of honesty. She wants to defend and protect those who cannot protect themselves. She is a soldier, and she is committed to her calling. She's beautiful and sexy without looking like a harlot COUGHSTARFIRECOUGH and yet she has an eminently practical costume with a striking visual design. Integrity and nobility, but with totally normal human failings as well (her inability to forgive her father, currently). THIS IS HOW YOU WRITE A SUPERHERO, DC. DO MORE OF THIS. |

At least I could find Starfire interestin. |
If you ever liked the character, do yourself a favor and avoid reading her in the new Red Hood book. They ripped out anything remotely resembling the character's personality and left her as an amnesiac nympho |

Sure, they can backpedal all they want, but if they were trying to bring in newer, casual readers, most of them aren't going to go online to see what the editors and creators are going to say, and that line was presented completely seriously. They blew their very important first impression.

As for Power Girl as Man Bait, that's how she started and over time she became one of the most interesting characters in that universe. It hasn't yet been established if she'll be making the migration to the new 52, if not then she will be missed by me.

I've really enjoyed Batwoman and Wonder Woman, but in my humble opinion what they've done to most female characters in the dc universe is simply disgusting. They new Catwoman, Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad even Bleez in Red Lanters, (and christ lets not even start on Voodoo or Starfire in Red Hood) these characters are so grossly over sexulized that it's vomit inducing.
I'm not really sure how the quest to make the series more modern and meaningful ended in basicly turning every single female character into either a sex worker or a nymphomaniac. |
We've seen "Karen Starr" in Mister Terrific's book; they're dancing around whether she has powers or not. |
|
So far Ive only read the batman books, but Ive heard good things about Swamp Thing and Animal Man. But is it true that Beast Boy and Raven are not in Teen Titans?
|
|
|
yeah that's true Titans seems to be; Red Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Bunker, Skitters, Solstice (might be getting a name change after being mutated by the bad guys) and possibly Danny the Street. Superboy looks like he's going to be one of their main enemies for a while but will eventually switch sides onto their their team. Supposedly Raven will appear in issue 5. Bunker and Skitters are totally new characters. Bunker creates Psionic Bricks that he can assemble in any shape he wants. Skitters seems to have the combined powers of the Insect World. Bunker is actually a pretty fun character, don't know much about Skitters I think her only line so far has been "hissss" <spew insect acid at someone> |
We've seen "Karen Starr" in Mister Terrific's book; they're dancing around whether she has powers or not.[/quote Power Girl is the single best female comicbook hero has put out in the last 10 years. The last 3 volumes of her series were so good, I bought the TPB and have the comics. |

I think Action comics and Detective comics is my favorite, Nightwing is pretty cool to
|
|
I have to admit I am really enjoying the T-Shirt and Jeans, not godlike powerful, kick the door down and bust some heads Superman a lot more than the All-Powerful "Stick-up-his-!@#" Perfect Man we have had before now.

The DC Reboot... Hate that they turned Starfire into a Roady for Jason and Roy to double team at night when she isn't sleeping with random strangers. Or that they deleted the other Batgirls from canon in that they never were Batgirl ever.
