Please Help Make This A Sticky

Recently, Bracelet and I ran into each other on alts while leveling. We began discussing roleplaying on this server. Not many people do public roleplaying and we feel we should help promote it.

In my absense, I met a great person who Roleplays a lot on his own realm. They have open RP and support it daily. They're a really great community.

So in the meantime, this post is to help promote roleplaying and invite people to an OOC channel that was created to get the RPers on each faction to be able to get together witout taking time from their gameplay. Please feel free to let me know what to add if you see something missing.

If you’re beginner or vet RPer, this place is wonderful to help you set up your character. Dramatis Personae (DP) is an association of roleplayers in WoW. They come together in this one site to help create memorable characters and stories for all roleplaying servers in WoW.

This site is a wonderful place for those who are learning RP and even for Vet RPers. I personally have met Shaw, who runs the website. He is a pretty awesome person. He is a graphic designer who likes to help others. In his spare time he plays either a Human Warrior or an Undead Rogue on the Earthen Ring – US Server. I suggest anyone take a look at this site. I personally have learned a few things from it.

This website is amazing for RP Gear. They have the gear set up by types and teirs. It explains what item is in what slot, where to get the items. It shows you images of waht the outfit looks like and also gives you the other colors it might come in.

Too Many Annas is a great place to learn RP. She has many resources and experiances herself. Her blog also includes her characters and class helps for the classes she does play. Very informative. She doesn't update her blog anymore, but it's still a great site to look at.

I'm sure you all know of Wowwiki. They have a roleplaying wiki that is immensely helpful. Also, you can search for lore and read up on it. Make sure you play your race/class correctly.

Roleplaying is an innovative ability that allows you to let your imagination run free and allows your creativity to unfold into meassures that is restricted in other situations. You can be what you want to be, say what you want to say and your actions are only limited by your own restrictions and imagination. So, why should that not apply for your AddOns aswell? Most AddOns work on creating a restrictive fence around you, or by supplying you ’guidelines’ which limits your answer or response activity.

We have a solution. The Developer of GHI saw this issue that people were facing and decided it had to end. He wanted to create a tool for the roleplayers, that would remove the restrictions and limitations from their shoulders, and secure them an AddOn which would not limit creativity, but promote it. He believes that the best ideas comes from the users themselves and not those who develop the AddOns, so he took up the challenge to create this tool. And he did.

I know there are a few RP Events that do happen. In order to promote more RP on this server, public or otherwise, we should let others know when these events are happening. New and Old members of this realm are welcome to the events we list there.

Description: Drinking! Dancing! Storytelling, singing, drinking, feasts, and drinking! Every 30 minutes, a prize will be raffled off to those who wish to participate, ranging from the comical to the extraordinaire. The final hour of the festivities will be signaled with the main event: the Zeppelin Chase! Racers will be required to imbibe a single* skin of firewater before preparing to match their speed and flight path with that of the zeppelin! The winners will be determined by style, audience enjoyment, most spectacular crash and more!

Blood Elves may or may not be subject to random cover charge and/or invasive body cavity search.

Teachings of the Earth Mother

should.... check forums more than once in a blue moon....Some of my friends and I have been using the tavern near the Emberstone Mine in Eastern Gilneas for RP. It's not like, a constantly used location, but people do swing by it and the setting is really nice. And Bracelet's deed to the location is totally legitimate and not at all forged. Not even a little. Totally. The downside is the fact that the area, like all of Gilneas, is phased.<<Edit>>Hah! Also forgot my maps might come in handy. They have a lot of public spaces listed as points of interest. Author of Too Many Annas here - I'm glad you got a lot out of the site! I've had "life" take over instead of blogging, but I still occasionally post fiction there (haven't written much lately, but that is always subject to change). I'm also still around in game, and happy to answer questions there or in email :) Increasing the visibility of RP is a good goal - I've never found RP to be dead, just not as out in the open as it used to be.

The Wildfire Riders (still!) host an open pub night on Tuesday evenings at the Pig and Whistle in Stormwind, starting around 7 server (or whenever people show up). We play cards, talk smack, and otherwise are miscreants having a good time with friends. Occasionally we even work on furthering plot events.

There's lots and lots of RP around on Feathermoon! At least on Alliance side. I don't play my poor hordie too much. Sometimes it can be tricky to find, and looking for it in /trade and /general is never a terribly good idea, but it's definitely there!

People meet up at the Blue Recluse in Stormwind fairly regularly. I used to be there all the time, but homework and real life has gotten in the way, as of late. Besides, Jaz is off infiltrating Undercity or some-such. *waves a hand*

Anyhow, a LFRP channel is a pretty awesome idea

The Recluse is pretty solid for any evening RP - usually there's at least 2 people whenever I go during primetime on the weekends.

Sounds good. Let me know and I'll get it added. I'll join you if possible. I've got a new job which will be taking up my nights soon. So I'll only be available days.

I don't think what Galvan is talking about is really an RP event, it's just a RP location. Much like the Pig and Whistle, it's a place where people who are open to RP and not doing anything else might go to hang out, in hopes of finding other RPers that want to play too.

Might be worth another category "Regular Places for RP Hangouts" or somesuch. I think both the Blue Recluse and the Pig and Whistle would count as good places to check to find RPers, at least Alliance side. I don't know of any current Hordeside places (though there were several spots in Silvermoon a few years back)
