I'd like to start by saying that I support this 100% and that I wish I had read your posts sooner.
I really hope that someday your posts will get the attention they deserve.
Now bear with me, It's 3am here and I just finished doing an entire terms worth of data entry - BUT the second wind has hit and I've got quite the post/rant brewing in my mind that will probably come out as incoherent babbling to the masses :0
Regardless of how incoherent it is, this is all opinion based on personal experiences and should still be treated as such
Every time I end up back on here, it's always for the same reason.
I want the my experiences with the WoW I knew and loved to come back. The WoW that I had no problem staying up all night to play, even if that meant doing data entry at work half dead whilst binge drinking coffee .
I miss the hours I could spend in WoW always experiencing a thrill, without ever becoming bored, without it ever feeling like the rewards were the only point to the game.
Whether or not it was AV, or the fights that would bring down servers in STV or Hillsbrad, or even steamrolling Darkshire with a few friends for a little while, it was always for fun. It was never just about the rewards.
I really think that bringing back classic AV could set the chains in motion to bring back the world of warcraft that we all miss in different and similar ways.
By no means do I intend for them to alter the content that players already enjoy, just to allow the option to choose for those whom desire it!
After all, we're all paying the monthly bill :]
So hopefully they will recognize the amount of effort you're putting into getting AV restored back to its glorious and legendary days. With enough determination, I'm sure that eventually they'll be forced to notice how large your support group actually is, and shed some light on this.
I admire both the patience and effort that you and your friends/supporters are putting into this.
Tomorrow I guess it's off to the mailbox with me!
I couldn't resist throwing my own ties to the game in here for nostalgic purposes, and to see if anyone else relates. It's most likely all late night babbling that I'm doing in an incoherent state, but it's bringing back many memories and keeping me entertained for now :D
However: If you don't like long winded rants, don't waste your time reading the rest of the post.
*Potential trolls averted successfully!*
- Vanilla -
I never had any real problems or complaints back in vanilla, it was perfect.
(Of course at the time I took it for granted, not realizing how much I would miss it.)
I decided to quit, temporarily of course, during patch 1.12 due to lack of time and funds to play.
Figured when the new x-pack came out, I would dive back into my old hobby and appreciate it just as much as I always had.
- Burning Crusade -
Started back up when it came out. Dabbled in the new PvE content, exploring Outland and seeing what it had to offer. Once my toon reached 70 and I had replaced my entire Judgement set with blues and greens, I decided to check out the changes made to PvP (I generally spent a majority of my time on WoW PvPing.)
Quit during patch 2.3 out of pure displeasure for what the game had become. I hated farming honor and marks with a passion, it felt like work as opposed to being in a thrilling battleground where there was more than one way to achieve a goal. Every aspect of PvP at that point had become linear and repetitive.
(Plus my main was a Ret Paladin and I hated healing, so you should understand the pain I endured when it came to PvE or PvP during BC.) Rejoined to see the sunwell, did the raid, got sick of repetitive and time consuming daily's, once again left WoW.
- WotLK -
Was it time to start back up again? This time exploring Northrend on an epic quest to stop the lich king? I had been waiting for this x-pack for quite some time due to my love of WC3's human and undead story-line. Plus I could be a Death Knight, Woot! Also; a friend mentioned Wintergrasp to me which resulted in me getting all giddy. I was under the impression that it was blizzards way of bringing back something similar to classic AV since it was a huge element to the game that I missed.
Bought the expansion and, once again, started back up.
It was fun at first, but then WotLK quickly became the same stale game that it was in burning crusade, just add more button mashing and crap on the ground that people shouldn't stand in but did anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I loved wintergrasp. However - Only being able to go into it once every two hours just to have a 30 minute(max) game didn't really float my boat.
Eventually I got tired of sitting around Dalaran and playing the same quick battlegrounds over and over again. I soon ventured from wow when 3.3.3 hit.
- Cataclysm -
Rinse and repeat the process from the previous expansions.
I rejoined a little before 4.3 came back out so I'd be around to scope out transmogrification, the new instances, and possibly the new raid if I had time; However, nothing has really caught my attention in PvP. It still seems the exact same as when I left it in April asides from the new season of armor, which of course is just a shinier version of what I already had.
I think I just about got that all out of my system for now!
Anywho, good luck and have fun folks!
Get 100's and make me proud!
