So because WoW is "failing" they give the heave-ho to people working on Titan and Diablo 3.

Yeah. That reasoning sounds about on par for this community.

Actually, using deductive logic, we *can* come to a reasonable conclusion. Because they're moving back to a "wrath"-esque difficulty slider, and increasing the ability of "casuals" to get their epix, we can reasonably deduce that the majority of lost subs have come from capped level players who were not satisfied with the increased difficulty level of Cataclysm.

Not a reasonable conclusion, since they are still providing challenging content in 5ms. They are just making heroic modes what normals are now, and challenge modes are what heroics are now.

The difficulty isn't being move down, you could argue it's being moved up in fact, due to gear scaling.

You forget that these people are the fabled "A Team" who made Vanilla WoW, which as they remember it was pure sunshine from the heavens.

Them being laid off can only signal the complete takeover of Blizzard by Activi$ion, and the death of WoW as we know it.

Sky falling, cats and dogs living together.

P.S. I hope that people understand that I hold none of these positions.

Even then, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. They had some major staff changes in the early WoW development as well. Diablo 3 was finished, trashed, and restarted as the game we almost have in our hands.

Blizzard is just a big target. People want to see it fail now. Anyways, have fun with your rumors. I'll be waiting eagerly for the figures Blizzard is going to be releasing in about five hours.

This is a valid point. They're bringing back the 'ease' of gearing that we had in LK, as well as the easier 5mans 'and' adding an easier level of difficulty for Raiding, and all of that is aimed entirely at the players who don't want the stress of those difficult Raids and 5mans.

And at the same time, they're adding in Challenge difficulty for those who want to Challenge themselves.

IF they can pull it off, they may well get some of their player base back 'and' keep the Hardcore happy.

The only ones who will be raging will be the would-be Hardcore who simply don't like anyone else having fun.

Most of the D3 people that were allegedly laid off would have finished their job duties now that the game is close to release. One would assume that if the financial numbers were looking great, they would have been moved on to other projects. In this case, they were probably canned to remove their salary expense from the tab sheet.

As for Titan, the game is in development. If Blizzard is losing money on WOW, an established franchise that had 12 million players at one time, what makes you think Activision-Blizzard is going to continue banking on a risk that may or may not be Titan? They banked on Cata, and look what happened. Either they've canned the project or they're severely cutting the development on it to save costs elsewhere.
