Hey guys,

I am not sure how many of you attempted this place. If you have that's great, it really isn't all that bad with the exception of some bosses, like patchwerk and razuvious, and maybe Thaddius. Atm, shadow priests with BiS gear can do at most 14/15 bosses, and those with lesser gear will probably find trouble on Patchwerk and Thaddius. Razuvious remains impossible as of patch 5.0.5. If you have done Razuvious solo as a priest, or know if anyone else that has, please let me know.

Trash in there was really easy. And also I got a mate to help me on the bosses that are unsoloable.

Yeah I've heard of it. But I thought Blizzard fixed it by resetting Patchwerk when it got kited to far.


The hardest fight was Kel'Thuzad and he took me an entire week's worth of attempts to succeed. No other bosses even came close, although a distant second would be Anub'Rekhan, which took me 2 days.

I am shocked, amazed, and impressed.

You should post this on the tank forums. Show 'em how it's done.

What all can Shadow priests solo? and do you use a different spec?

Mostly wonder if you can solo the ZG heroics ?

Most if not all cases soloing uses the same pve spec as the standard raiding spec. However priests cannot solo as much stuff being a cloth tank with no pet tanking and kiting abilities. With that said cata heroics are probably mostly still out of reach aside from an odd boss or two. On the top of my head I know that Altarius in heroic vortex pinnacle and Slabhide in heroic stonecore are both soloable. ZG heroics are yet another step up from these are I am guessing they are not soloable for priests yet.

@Zsunnie heya i watched ur KT solo vid and saw u running around alot was wondering is there an explanation of the strat u were doing? i would like to be able to farm it.

I can only assume you meant Kael'Thas since I did not run that much on Kel'Thuzad. For Kael it is important to drag the council to the entrance of the instance and kill them there for phase 1 in order to not get overwhelmed for phase 3. By dragging them to the entrance for phase 1, you can fight them 1 by 1 when phase 3 starts instead of all 5 at the same time

Ah k got it, how did you deal with the mind control? and u were using the Mace thruout the fight for 50% reduce fire/shadow dmg?

Mind Control doesnt affect the main tank, in this case...you. Just remember not to fade aggro onto shadowfiend. I was using the mace for 50% reduced shadow/fire damage but I have heard that it is not all necessary with high ilvls.

All of this makes me wonder what bosses are soloable by a discipline priest. I haven't been shadow since vanilla. Hrm!

Just updated with a Thaddius kill, so now the only bosses left are Razuvious and Patchwerk.

Disc priests have superior survivability compared to shadow, so they can take a bigger beating. However, their mana is the main issue. As for which bosses disc priests can do, I believe Naxx is the borderline here. Anything beyond Naxx will be extremely tough for a disc priest, and even in Naxx there aren't that many fights that can be done with disc. However going back to T6 and older content, there should be many bosses that disc can do. However, personally I have not seen many videos of discipline soloing, mainly because it is less efficient and more time consuming than shadow, but as long as you can rotate CDs effectively and stay alive without too much trouble in a boss fight, then you should be able to solo that boss.
