Mouse/tablet problems

Hey guys!

It's rather minor, but it makes playing that much harder.

Whenever I play on my mac, I'll left or right click to turn the camera or my character. When I release, my mouse will jump to wherever, usually in an inconvenient place. I'm using a 2007 wacom tablet, and I've no idea how to fix this. It only does it in WoW.

To be honest i have no experience in this issue. i wasn't aware you could even us a tablet as a mouse for wow, but i imagine it's not intended in the design. Is this the only mouse avaialble to you?

Hi Saulyne,

This is something we've seen some reports on. We're aware of this and are investigating this matter. This is most likely a driver issue relating to how it interacts with WoW. Check to make sure you are on the latest version of this driver, and let me know if this helps resolve the issue.

If you can post some specs about your Mac too.

Obtaining System Information
    1. Hold the "Option" Key and choose "System Profiler/Information" from the Apple Menu.

    2. Copy the information from the following sections:
  • Hardware (remove the Serial Number line)
  • Graphics/Displays
  • Software (remove the Computer Name and User Name lines)

Also, the exact Make/Model of your Wacom would help too.

Sorry it took so long to respond.

I'm booting up the Mac now
It runs both windows and snowleopard in different partitions. For some reason, it doesn't like the drivers for my tablet.

I'll post specs in next post.

Thanks for the information. So the latest drivers for that is:

27 Sep 2011

Is this what you are on?

I don't know how to check.

Not sure if Tony is meaning the version of the mouse driver or the version of the wacom software.

You could try digging around your Applications folder to see if there's any apps in there.

Also try digging around System Profiler to see if you can find it in there.

Apple Menu -> About this Mac -> More info -> System Report in the About this Mac box that comes up.

Dig through the software tabs or hardware tabs for the mouse if you have them.

Sorry, this was for version of mouse driver I saw from the Wacom website. I'm not too familiar with the software itself...

CTE-640 = Graphic 4 series I believe.

According to Wacom, this is the latest driver: http://www.wacom.com/CustomerCare/Drivers.aspx?model=Graphire4&os=Mac+OS+X

I did update the drivers. Looks like those are the right ones. They did install, and there was no change in-game.

I occasionally use my Wacom tablet instead of the mouse for playing WoW. The question I have for Saulyne is "Are you using your Wacom tablet in Mouse Mode or Pen Mode?" This setting can be found in System Preferences --> Wacom Tablet, then click on the "Mapping" button in middle of the window (There are three buttons in the middle: "Pen," "Eraser," and "Mapping").

What Pen Mode does is map the input coordinates to absolute coordinates on the tablet. If your pen or Wacom mouse is in a corner of the tablet, the mouse cursor will jump to that corner.

What Mouse Mode does is map the input coordinates to relative coordinates on the tablet. If your pen or Wacom mouse is in a corner of the tablet, the mouse cursor will stay wherever it was on the screen and won't move until you move the pen or Wacom mouse.

So, if you're using the Wacom mouse with the tablet, you probably should use Mouse Mode and set that mode accordingly in the System Preferences.

I have seen those settings before, and I tweaked them a couple of days ago.

It's running in mouse mode. It works fine everywhere but WoW.

Sorry to 'necro' this but I see Wacom has some new drivers for Mac OS X:

http://www.wacom.com/CustomerCare/Drivers.aspx?model=Graphire4&os=Mac+OS+X
Driver 5.2.6-3(RC) for OS X 10.7, 10.6 & 10.5
3 Jan 2012

Would you mind or anyone else that has this issue find out if this fixes the Wacom Tablet/Mouse issue?

I have the same problem after updating to OSX Lion. I have used a 2006 iMac, a 2010 Mac Pro, and a 2012 iMac with the same result. My tablet is an Intuos 3. The '06 iMac and '10 Mac Pro previously worked fine with the tablet with older versions of OSX.

I always used tablet mode with it to play WoW and would rather not have to re-learn to play a different way.
