I have MacBook Pro and use the Dvorak keyboard layout for typing. While it has worked fine since the latter part of The Burning Crusade, with the new content patch (4.3) I have to be in QWERTY to move correctly, then switch back to Dvorak to type. You can imagine how this can become cumbersome and frustrating, especially in groups and under the pressure of dungeons and raids.
I tried turning off the new Mac specific feature to not use MacOS shortcuts and it didn't make a difference. Am I going to have to remap all my keybindings to make this work? |
|
I have a similiar problem in that I have been using an Apple extended keyboard and use function keys F13 through F19. F13, F14 and F16 still respond, but F15, F17, F18 and F19 don't. Turning off the new Mac specific feature has no effect. These keys have been working perfectly until yesterday's update to patch 4.3.
I am also hoping I won't have to reconfigure my keybindings. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? |

Thanks Euin, I'll see what I can find out. Can you post some specs about your Mac, so I know what kind we are working with?

I'm having the same problem. I started a thread already before I found this topic. My post is at http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3657436261.

Similar. I already posted on Zonarosa's thread, though I think I'll still copy over some of the info I put there.
From the looks of things, I still get the 'QWERTY command' bit when I'm typing stuff in the chat line (considering that I can C/P as if using QWERTY), but only then... I have the same problem as Kranah. Some of my commands seem to work with the AZERTY keyboard layout while I can still chat with the QWERTY keyboard layout.
I couldn't access my world map with "M". When I went to check the keybinding and tried to write "M", it wrote "," as though I had an AZERTY keyboard... My OS is in french, but my keyboard settings are "french canadian CSA". I have the exact same problem that Daphné i even sended 2 tickets the first was was answered with a solution to try, my second ticket is still in waiting. I send my second ticket because the solution was a failed.
Here a copy of my second ticket who is still in waiting of a answer: I did all you told me to do, but i still got the same problem. I think it's a key binding problem, because the keys on my keyboard work fine in WoW in-game chat and in all other applications on my mac. My problem still is: In my WoW in-game key binding windows Map is key binding to the key "m" but on my keyboard i must press the key ";" to open Map. If i try to key binding the keys ( by pressing those keys on my keyboard) "m" or "," or "." to any functions, it's like i pressed the key "." for all the three keys. Like if the keys"m" or "," or "." is the same as key "." If i try to key binding the key "^" ( by pressing those keys on my keyboard) to any functions it's like i pressed the key "6" Like if the key "^" is the same key as the key "6" SO PLEASE try to fix it or find a solution. So i can go on playing WoW and not a broken game. i think my ticket number is Ticket US21625453. I hope that will help advance the solution. EDIT: I just did a test in game when i switched to Canadian-English keyboard, all my keys in my keybinding worked fine. Thanks all. We're aware of this our team are working on addressing this. This happens in more than Dvorak layouts, as this has been reported for international layouts, and even some US layouts. We'll post back when we know more. Here is the symptoms that may help describe this issue:
Keyboard controls do not match the keybinds: e.g. in Russian if you had WASD for movement you would move right when you press "A", use a spell from your action bar if you press "W" etc. This may be different outputs depending on the language/layout you have, but essentially it's the same key input issues. ________________________________________________ Mac Tech Support for Baaaaahlizzard Entertainment || Fri-Tue 1:45 pm - 10:45 pm CST http://www.surveymk.com/s/RF8K3KG ---- Rate my Baaaaalue Posts. They are making progress. This requires a client side patch to address the issue, but I don't have an ETA for this. But It is one of the things we will get addressed.

It should be addressed. The PTR is open. I had no issues, and you are more than welcome to try it out. Since this affects users based on what layout they choose, I would recommend you test this out too.
