we need old tree of life back that lasted forever. without it restoration druids are boring

I agree healing in Cata is either boring or stupidly hard. Bringing back ToL though, isn't necessarily going to change anything.

Well, in Blizzard's mind, having a cosmetic enhancement over a cooldown isn't how they define fun.

They removed permanent ToL because lots of Druids were complaining during Wrath about not being able to see their epic gear. Personally, I think Blizz shoulda just made graphics where all the druid forms WEAR THE ACTUAL GEAR, but I guess it was easier to just make one spec be the pretty gear spec. |
That wasn't the only reason. The reason I remember reading from Blizzcon or wherever (it was official) was that they couldn't find a reason to keep ToL that way as it didn't do or provide any diferent gameplay for the druid for sitting in that form. They then chose to revert to their original idea of ToL being a Cooldown and that's what we have now. Seeing the gear was mentionned as well, there's rarely a single reason for such a change but I remember the gear wasn't the main thing. |

Yes, that was their reason to remove ToL. But a lot a of people miss being a big tree all the time. I play as a resto-druid and I don't even have the ToL talent because of how much it bothers me it is a CD spell.
There is a simple solution for this. First, make ToL a permanent form, same as Cat, Bear, Boom, etc. Please add a minor buff to it (i.e. casting time for healing spells reduced in x%) Second, when you get the ToL, players get a spell that can only be used when you are in ToL (similar to all the bear or cat spells, only available when in the respective form). You can put the same CD on that spell as the present ToL form. The spell simply gives you the buff ToL gives right now (regrowth instant cast, etc.), so players will be mindful on when to trigger the ToL buff. If Blizzard doesn't want players to permanently remain in ToL forms, simply add some limitations to it. Movement speed reduction. You cannot mount in ToL form. You need to shapeshift back to caster form first, then mount. Make some spells not cast-able in ToL form, such as harmful spells of any kind. There are many options that could make ToL a permanent form and still make it interesting or even challenging to use. |

I haven't played resto druid for a while now, but I hated being a tree. But I tolerated being a walking tree because I liked the playstyle. Funny thing is that now they took it away, I kinda miss that silly old treant. =p

Hey I really like having a DPS CD as a healer. It's super convienient ;)
In all seriousness there really isn't a reason to have the form be permanent (granted you could reason theres no reason for any of them to be but hey). As a cool down it is probably more useful and i do actually like having the ability to DPS during Low healing pases (I even have the free wrath talent). |

Well, the utility of being able to perform heals well is still there, but people qqing over not being able to see their epic gear? Sorry, but when you're healing a raid or BG group, you shouldn't be looking at your gear. I hated the removal of ToL as a permanent morph. Bear, Kitty and boomkin are all permanent until uncasted. ToL should have stayed the same way, too.
So, as someone who was an avid druid healer before that change was made, please Blizzard, change it back. |

You can provide no argument whatsoever that the druid tree form /dance was not the most awesome thing to ever hit WoW. |
As a resto druid, i would loathe the idea of perma tree coming back. However, the dance was the single best thing ever added to the game. |

It was okay. Not much of an in-game dancer myself. I am sure others liked it though. If Tree form comes back permanently, I'll just go Feral in my second spec again. |

The TOL was one of the main reasons why I wanted to make a druid and then it was nothing but a CD so I did not want one for the longest time. When cata came out I wanted new form and class so I went with a worgen druid and I love being able to shift into all the forms but still miss being able to go tree for more than a few secs. I agree it should have some spells that can not be used in tree form and have a big CD spell just for tree form but to only be able to use it for a few secs is just boring. If I wanted to worry about everyone seeing my armor I would not go boomy in dungens, I would just stay in caster form. Each form has certain things about them that make it good but losing the abilty to stay TOL was a bad choice. Please BLIZZ bring back the real TOL form.

As a Resto Druid for my main character, and has been for a while, I have to say I miss permanent Tree of Life form. Tree form should have remained permanent, despite what people say about running around like a dead tree, is Boomkin form any better? You're a fat bird. Also as a Resto main, I am concerned that I do not see Tree of Life shapeshift talent in the new Resto tree at all; neither Cool Down operated or Permanent shapeshift form. Has anyone else noticed this?

OR.... make a toggle like they did with worgen / human. Give me back my branches! |
|

It was removed because people want to see their pretty epics. When if they really cared about they could play another class. Druids are Shapeshifters and need permanent forms. Before long if enough idiots complain about not seeing gear they'll make bear and cat form a cooldown too. QQers always win.

A year of Bring ToL back, Druids cannot utterly exist without it hasn't worked so far. |

I feel like having ToL as a cooldown actually plays up the shapeshifter angle more. If you're always in the same form anyway, you're not doing much shapeshifting, are you? Also as a Resto main, I am concerned that I do not see Tree of Life shapeshift talent in the new Resto tree at all; neither Cool Down operated or Permanent shapeshift form. Has anyone else noticed this? It's the bonus Resto gets from the Incarnation talent. I, for one, am happy to see it become a choice rather than something that feels mandatory. I've personally never been a fan of tree form, and I hate that once I've blown the cooldown, if I have to shift to break a root, or to get access to my dash, it's been wasted; it should become an option to shift into tree as long as the buff would last, I think. Honestly, though, I probably wouldn't even be healing on my druid if I had to sit in it the whole time. Okay, that's a lie. I would totally still be druid healing, because it's fun, but tree form isn't what makes it that way. |
