I don't think this is possible anymore, without dying. Soon as you get to Cataclysm zones everything will murder you as you wont get the huge stat gain from items.

I don't think you'll need to go to the cata zones to hit 85. You should be able to farm Wrath stuff to the cap.

They hardcore nerfed the EXP you get from Wrath 80+ though.

You could do it with the DMF and maybe some Argent Tourney stuff I guess. It'd just take a LONG time.
I clicked on this thread hoping it would be a challenge for the best Iron Man transmog.

Altight so if you get to 84 with out dying do you still have to delete your character because that would Suck

Ill do it but ill probably be deleting my character alot lol

Plus leveling a low level rogue to 10 with out dying would be impossible you have 2 damaging abilitys until 8 and all the mobs are grouped together (Undead Starting Area)

ugh I know I wont be ironmanning a rogue because Id never get past 6 :-P

This character is in Dragonblight. I've been doing Loremaster while I've been levelling.

And you've already broken rule #1. Grey and Whites only.

6) No groups- no BG's, no instances, no raids, no quest groups. No guilds.

You've also done 1 instance. :) Yeh, take that stormwind stockades, I see you!

True, but that will take a very very long time. Better then dying to your first cataclysm mob I guess.

Oh, I wasn't doing this. Just pointing out that you can get quite high just by doing every blasted quest. I don't think I'll get more than maybe 82 in Northrend though, but for someone doing this it might be enough of a buffer to not get smushed in the Cata zones.

Ironwoman & WarMastiff Diary Entry 1
Dear Diary,

There’s nothing quite like the murder and exile of your people to spur you on to adventure! So, it should come as no surprise that, following our escape from the Forsaken, I jumped at the chance to accompany Horatio Laine as he solved a murder-mystery in Westfall.

I only got to shoot four hobos before I found out what I needed to know: Gnolls and Murlocs had killed the Furlbrows and their horse Blanchy in cold blood! I was all set to exact vengeance on those foul creatures when Horatio informed me that they couldn’t possibly be the cause, having lived close-by for years without causing trouble. Blast! And I really wanted to… oh… look at that… Horatio wants me to kill some Gnolls anyway!

Two quest hubs and one Carusoism later I finally made it to Sentinel Hill.

My hunt for the Furlbrows’ killer led me to uncover a Socialist plot based in Moonbrook! I snuck in to one of their rallies and, quickly discovering that they were all raving mad, I reported back to my commander (eager to massacre them all!).

But commander Alpert is no Horatio Laine. No, rather than order wholesale slaughter he suggested I consult with some Draenei named Thoralius. And then this Draenei (obviously high as a kite!) has the nerve to tell me to go burn some incense in a cave! Well, I kicked him in the balls, called him a dirty hippie and stormed off!

I’m done with this place. Maybe I’ll visit Redridge, the mountain air might do me good.

NOTE: In addition to the stated rules I will be foregoing First Aid
NOTE2: Looks like this will be a loooooooooong challenge. Don't hold your breath.

You would lose when you hit Cata zones.

My Goblin Warrior hit 80 this week, and I went to Hyjal with all Wrath Blues except for one weapon spot.

I could not pull more than one mob without dying.

My friend and I are trying this now, although we are bending the rules a bit and doing it together.

(We are Imwith and Stewpid of Eredar by the way.)
82 Night Elf Druid

1) No items equipped other than White or Gray items.
2) No heirlooms
3) No talent points- no specialization - you may train class abilities
4) No professions, primary or secondary, other than First Aid.
5) No food or water above vendor-quality white items.
6) No groups- no BG's, no instances, no raids, no quest groups. No guilds.
7) No enchants, scrolls, potions/elixirs, or glyphs.
8) No outside financial or equipment assistance (no gold or bags from other toons)
9) THE BIG ONE - if you die, ever, you delete that toon and start over at lvl 1

I haven't followed all the rules but I did level this character up to 74-76 with only white and gray items. I finally started using blues and greens, and an occasional party, cause I was unable to solo the group quests I needed to finish off the Outlands quest achievements.

Some of the rules were bent but I think I observed the spirit of most of them.

#3 - I certainly did assign all my talent points.
#4 - Not really sure what advantage Herbalism, Skinning, Cooking, Fishing, Archaeology would provide, although Archaeology did provide a few levels of experience all by itself. And while I may have made some bandages I don't know that I ever used any.
#6 - Am in a guild but that's mostly just for the social company while I play.
#7 - Have no enchants but the items I have used are of white quality.
#9 - I have died MANY times. (less than twice a level, and most of them recently)

I just started questing in Dragonblight (at 80) so I expect to make 85 before I leave Northrend, or be very close. If it wasn't for group quests in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley that I needed to do to get the zone achievements I'd still be wearing my grays and whites. In fact I think I have yet to find a group quest in Northrend (Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord) so maybe I'll go back to that gear (although not sure if I have the patience or desire anymore).

Certainly think this is possible if you are cautious and have the patience. Early levels are easy to get through so you can build up a level buffer and quest in lower level zones. Not much of a problem in whites and grays when you have 10 levels on the mobs, although it only takes one bad situation to ruin everything.

Ironwoman & WarMastiff Diary Entry 2
Dear Diary,

Redridge. Finally! A chance to do some real good!

In the south I’ve resupplied the watch tower and scattered the gnoll tribes, destroying any battle plans they may have had. In the north I’ve driven the gnolls back from the town, killing their leaders Yowler and Ardo Dirtpaw.

But most importantly I’ve reunited Bravo Company, the (allegedly) greatest action heroes the Alliance has ever seen! Why I didn't make the list I still don't know...

It wasn’t easy. That mopey baby Keeshan had to have his bow handed to him before he would even get out of the basement. And what a chore it was running all over the place rescuing his teammates. You’d think at least one of them would have the decency to not get caught by a bunch of wussy Orcs! I sure hope these guys were worth the effort as I’ve yet to see them do anything that WarMastiff couldn’t do.

Now excuse me, I have to pick up some fox poop and make some chloroform.
