Evolution might fit in well with large guilds who often insult the heck out of each other ... but for those guilds like ours with maybe not a billion members, but growing and very friendly and helpful with each other, to have one guy join up and treat everyone like utter trash is just not right.
Not complaining here LOL already booted his butt to the curb and blacklisted him. Just wanting to put that out there for other guild leaders who might think of taking him on in case they are trying to be careful about who they let in, personality wise.
Again, some guilds I'm sure he'd fit right in without any issues. Just not ours or ones like ours
Tips for any guild officers:
-Have rules of some kind clearly posted on the webstie/in G-info. Don't have to be nitty gritty, but basic policies, what the guild's about, etc, that everyone should be aware of and agree to, and know that even officers are not above them.
-Have an app process, whether that's fill in a forum post form, answer certain questions to be sure they read the rules, or just to get to know potential recruits.
-Try an interview process. Talk to the person! Whether IC, OOC, or both, it's a great way to get to know someone and see how they might fit in.
-Have a trial rank. Limited access to the bank, gold funds, etc, where people can be promoted from after time and effort working with their new guildies. If they don't work out, they can do minimal damage if things go badly.
Any kind of screening process can make it harder (though still not impossible) for people who don't fit the guild to get in. It also separates the people just looking for anywhere with perks from the folks who really want to be in your particular guild and what it has to offer.
Threats of violence. We take these seriously and will alert the proper authorities.
Posts containing personal information about other players. This includes physical addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and inappropriate photos and/or videos.
Harassing or discriminatory language. This will not be tolerated.
