The Mysterious Noise
|
.. Okay.. here I thought I was going crazy but I looked into it and it seems like other people around the world are hearing these strange-- deep trumpet like mysterious noise coming from.. who knows where. This evening my boyfriends mom heard it too.
I am curious how many of you guys have heard this noise and what you think it might be. |
Source? The obvious guess is something environmental or related to tinnitus. |

Okay.. here I thought I was going crazy but I looked into it and it seems like other people around the world are hearing these strange-- deep trumpet like mysterious noise coming from.. who knows where. This evening my boyfriends mom heard it too. I haven't heard any myself, but here in colorado people claimed to have heared a trumpet-like noises before an earthquake we had. I recommend typing "strange noises in 2012"into yahoo/google search, there's been alot of these reports world-wide. The most common theory is that they are tied to HAARP. |
I haven't heard any myself, but here in colorado people claimed to have heared a trumpet-like noises before an earthquake we had. Googling that term, it appears to be a youtube hoax. The videos and sounds seem too uniform stylistically, shaky webcam footage that conveniently captures the sounds as they start to occur. And the appearance of discussion on websites but no media sites besides the Huffington Post or sources outside of youtube leans heavily on this being a fabrication, not a world-wide event. |
I haven't heard any myself, but here in colorado people claimed to have heared a trumpet-like noises before an earthquake we had. I agree that some of them are hoaxes (the los angeles one is pretty bad.) However, I find it hard to believe that so many different people in so many places are a part of a grand hoax. Also, if you look at some of the videos they include news reports from the area (Costa Rica, Canada, Russia, England ect.) |

Also, if you look at some of the videos they include news reports from the area (Costa Rica, Canada, Russia, England ect.) The few I glanced at didn't have any related news reports, do you have any links to those? Creating multiple accounts wouldn't be all that difficult for someone looking to create the illusion of many people around the world. Some videos may very well contain unexplained noises, but that doesn't mean they're all related. |

Sure: Ukraine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6ol6mu8PU4 UK- http://youtu.be/B7KBc-hKY5A Costa Rica- http://youtu.be/WgcZ_bii1PA also, for laughs, here is the fake LA one I was talking about- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQYWLaToGsQ I will post others when I find them. I agree they could be unrelated, but people are hearing something (including the OP.) Here is a report by ITN on the trend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqoDC01ErDw |
Thanks for posting the links. Being the only English speaking link, that's the only one I could confirm (although the Ukranian one is posted by a UFO enthusiast and the Costa Rican one by a doomsday enthusiast). Looks like this is the print version of the UK story http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/countryside/8580177/Here-comes-that-Hum-again.html It's certainly and odd story, although beyond being unexplained noises there doesn't seem to be any sort of link. Being 2012, there's an obvious link people are going to jump towards. Even if it's about as unlikely as an UFO actually being linked with extraterrestrials. |
Yeah alot of these are posted by people with their own theories behind them, however, it doesn't take away from the report. For example, I could take the UK one and repost it calling it "god ate too many enchiladas". The theories have ranged from the scientific (solar flares, slight pole shifts ect) to the paranormal (UFO's, planet X/Niburu) to the biblical (jesus is coming, look busy.) Who knows what the answer is, but hopefully more credible outfits will cover this story. |
Out of curiosity where do you live? I wouldn't mind chcking to see if there are any reports of the sound in your general area. |

There have been a number of similar incidents in recent years.

I am pretty sure the earth makes all kinds of noises in all frequencies some we hear some we dont. I live on the new madrid fault we get all kinds of weird things the earth does here. From strange lights to popping sounds, these are normal for the earth considering its always in a constant state of movement and settling. At least thats how my dad always explained it to me.
My dog will sometimes hold her head to an angle and listen intently to things on a frequency I cant hear, before a tremor or a big storm she knows its coming, because she can hear it before it reaches the frequency level of human hearing. Anyway I dont think its anything abnormal the earth is alive after all in many ways. |

It could be a viral thing for some movie that's yet to be announced. Wouldn't be the first time a stunt like this was pulled.
